Best thing to do is find a good donor mtx car to swap from. Its a pretty sure bet that not all the parts on it will be good though or it wouldn't be a donor. I am swapping my atx to mtx. Where you at in pa?

All of the manual transmissions are identical, early ones have cable shift and later ones are rod shifters. All manual transmissions can be converted to a rod shifter.
Emission test failures and rot are killing-off SHOs on a daily basis, so a donor car is out there.
You are not going to like my advice.
Fix your car up all you want, but I would leave the ATX to MTX swap to the very end, after you have found a 1994 MTX donor car that you can drive to verify everything.

I recently bought a 93 SHO Automatic car that has been converted to Manual, and it has turned out to be a great car.... due to the talent of the conversion team. But it really annoys me that every time I put a scan tool on it, a great number of codes come up that indicate the car is hunting around for input from the automatic transmission (which is not there).
There is a great possibility that the manual transmission car you uncover will be equal to the ATX car you have now, and then you are faced with a dilemma.
So leave that till the end, and enjoy your ATX, which as far as I am concerned, is just as nice to have as the MTX.
There is a great deal of information on ATX to MTX swaps on this forum and many people have done it. Many wiring and harness issues are simplified by using a donor car from the exact same year.
For what it is worth.

the first thing to do is a SEARCH. there are several detailed threads that describe how to do the conversion, and will answer 98% of your questions. After you have read those threads several times and understand what is in them, then ask us specific questions that remain.
