My engine is sluggish and stumbling down low, and i can hear the secondaries opening a little above 2500 rpm instead of 4000rpm. After a search id like to try and swap the IMRC but the only ones i have came off ATX SHOs.

Thank you for any help!

:thankyou:

You should also check for a vacuum leak as the runner actuators are held closed by manifold vacuum. An early secondary runner opening as you are experiencing may be due to a low manifold vacuum level that reaches the tipping point for the diaphram actuators as you open the throttle plate.

The gray tubing from the IMRC to the diaphram actuators tends to cook from engine heat over the years. One key area is immediately below the IAB valve where the "T" connector splits the IMRC tubing to the front and rear banks. You may just have to cut off a short piece of cracked tubing.

FWIW you can just get new 3/16" (I think) vacuum line and just run new vacuum lines. Same goes for all the other ones. There's nothing to it, since there's nothing that comes dribbling out when you take them off (hopefully). It makes the engine compartment look better, and there is a much lower risk of random vacuum leaks (and every one of those lines is a potential vacuum leak).
