BTw, there were some 1992-1995's with digital dashes. Both Flex Fuel, and Not. If I find some, I'll post, but I know for a FACT that there was, and there is even the correct dashboard trim for them.

Hey, this digidash thing is something I'd like to do to my '95, but I was wondering if there's anyway to correct the odometer during the swap?
You could call Ford and ask, they can change the mileage (I would really like to know how) but I don't know if they would on a used head.

i got a digi das in my 90 lx anyone want it?...all gauges except the idiot lights are digi...let me know i need to get ride of the parts fast and will to let em go cheap
Either PM me or e-mail me a price, I could use one to experiment on, plus I could really use the dash trim.
Will that digital dash go all the way to 143? I would love to see a shot of that! Take it down a long smooth fairly steep hill and see how far it will go up.

Also, can you do anything about the redline? Maybe expand it or something(not a clue about this kindda stuff)
I think mine will go that far (never had a chance to go that fast) I have had it up to 109 before though. Theres really nothing you can do about the tach, it acurate up to around 6800-7000 RPM but thats as far as it goes (Vulcans usually die way before 7k anyway :D ) You can turn off the tach and add your own if it bothers you to not see the last few hundred RPM.

I would LOVE to see that, I have only ever seen 2nd gen Sables with digital clusters. That trim piece would be a rare object.

Impressive job. What made you decide to make the change?

I always considered the digital clusters the "anti-sport" option. More accurate maybe, but they are not as quick and easy to read as an analog gauge. The ease of data transfer is what was supposed to be more important in a sporting situation. No matter, if one would rather have a digital dash then that is the better choice.

I've been considering putting this one in, also. (Yes, it will work, just a few different wires in the harness). It would bolt right in to the existing mounting brackets since it is the same type of cluster. I've been researching this one a lot. And, the reline isn't a problem for me with this one since I have an ATX Vulcan. :)

Nice, is that from a Crown Vic? You might have a problem with the tach if it's for a V8, or you might not, just give it a try!

I have always liked the way a digital dash looks, it matches the rest of the displays in the car better also. I don't think it would "flow" as well in a newer car but since mine is a '90 and the trend was as "high tech" as possable I think it matches nicely. It also looks really good at night, it gives the car a nice blue/green glow :D . Here's a shot with all the displays on:

My thoughts exactly. It blends so well, and plus seeing that the SHO is the top of the line model, why not have have the top of the line interior to go with it. Everything else in the interior had the digital look to it except for the cluster. Now it all matches. Plus I like looking at it when I'm driving, and I think to myself, "yup, I put that in." That's one reason I won't get rid of this car. I can play around and mod things to my liking and doesn't cost much, and it justs "adds" to the car. I like it.

Nope, Windstar. Which, especially since the electronics don't change from 3.0 to 3.8 in the Taurus, and the Windstar is (was) available with both engines also, the VSS should be the same. Plus, the clusters (well, most of them) interchange between both cars. ****, they are the same platform, just different bodies (well, not quite, but they are based on each other). I'll keep posted.

Excellent find! I knew that the Windstar used the same analog gauges but I have never seen this gauge cluster before. What do the function buttons look like? That cluster should hook up almost the same as the cluster that I used. That will look very cool! thumb

I absolutely love the look of the digital guages in your SHO's!! It does make them look so much cleaner on the dash since all of the lighting matches! I give kudos to you guys for trying something new that nobody has done before!! thumb thumb

I've seen a digital dash in a gen2 sable that stopped at 110 (or maybe it was 120). I don't know if they all did through the years or not.

I guess the only way to find out is to have Jelloslug take his SHO upto 130 and see if it climbs that high. wink

I rode in my neighbor's 97 Continental today and the (analog) gauges in that car look really sweet, although the speedo only goes up to 120. I didn't think about it at the time, but I wonder if that cluster would work in the SHO. shrug Now that I think about it, the Conti has a V8, so maybe not... shrug

I'm going to try to find out how high it will go, the problem is that there is no place safe enough to go that fast around here. Everything is curvy and has blind hills. The only long flat straitaways are heavily patrolled. doh 109 so far thumb

Is it reasonably safe to remove both front wheels and bolt the lug nuts back on to hold the rotors in place and mash the go-pedal?
