2009 will be the 20th anniversary of the SHO (21 years since the car started production) and the 18th annual SHO Convention.

DATE: July 27-30, 2009
Been a long time since two of us planned the first SHO Convention in 1992 in Peoria, IL.

We look forward to a big turnout in New Hampshire, with driving distances for most of the country shortened somewhat. We hope those from the far West will make the long drive as did many people from the east this year.

UPDATE: DETAILS!

Hold July 27-30 for the 20th Anniversary (of the SHO) SHO Convention in New Hamshire.

Update: DETAILS!!!

SHO Convention #18

DATES: July 27-30, 2009 LOCATION: Nashua New Hampshire
Host Hotel: Radisson Hotel Nashua, 11 Tara Boulevard, Nashua NH 03062
Reservations: (603) 888-9970, mention SHO CLUB. RATE: $95 plus 8% tax, good for 3 days before, 1 day after the event. Must cancel 72 hours before or there will be a 1 day charge. Direct on-line link on SHOclub.com soon.

Events planned: Annual car SHOW , SHO Autocross, Track event (TBA), Great drives in scenic NE beauty, Area attractions, and of course GREAT food and fun with your SHO friends. Please watch the various on-line communities (V6 and V8 SHO lists, SHOforum.com and SHOclub.com) for updates and registration forms.
Get ready for WHIPLASH as we go from Seattle to the far NE for SHO fun in 2009.

To answer a few questions: Monday-Thursday is (as Ron said) to allow people to have two weekends to travel and only use one weeks vacation. Also allows people to pack a day or two on either end for solo vacationing. Weekends are almost impossible to get drag or road course tracks, and visits to tourist destinations are also less crowded. Yes, it eliminates some people that can't get away, but we found that many more people can make this format that can actually come to the convention. Sorry if some people can't make it, but there is no "perfect" timing/month etc. We choose the best compromise.

Costs: we now have the hotel cost, pretty cheap for a quality hotel. Try to stay at the host hotel, as it helps us defray other costs like room rental for the banquet. But if you have to, it is easy to check out budget hotels in the area. we choose a higher line hotel for their banquet and parking facilities, the price this year is pretty low for the quality. Track days, we try to keep under $200 per driver, but no promises till we get the track to commit to their price and check out insurance. We have alternate plans just in case. There is plenty to do in the area.

More details as we get them, we hope to have a registration form on the club web site by the first of the year. http://www.shoclub.com

There will be some track time, the SHOw, our famous visits to local eateries and drives in some beautiful territory.

We will announce soon when registration forms are ready to go.

Till then, hold July 27-30 for some SHO fun and a 20th anniversary celebration you won't forget.

First off, thanks for all that you've done!!! In 92 I was still in FL and remember Miami and hurricane Andrew...; I think I was 7. But anyways, to make this one REALLY special; can I suggest that we make reservations somewhere in between Boston & the Race track; b/c I would LOVE to make an "orginaized" trip to the 'Sam Adams' beer factory for there tour:dribble::dribble::dribble::dribble:ETC:munch:

I'm sure it would be organized getting there, but getting back???.......

That is why I am suggesting a hotel in the middle. (A train ride;))

Thanks for reading my jibberish:wave: This will be my 1st convention, but I'm ALL about being a team player!!!:bestpost: JK!!:partytime: Thats the 1 I was looking for.

Anything near Boston, near the water or near Winnepesaukee are all cost prohibitive. We've got great plans brewin' for next year. I doubt any will be disappointed...

I'll be there for sure. It will be a great time, I'm sure of it. I can't wait to meet all of the other SHO owners myself. I had a blast at Carlisle and expect this to be 5X better. Count me in.

If you live in Rockford it makes no sense to drive through Canada.

I believe that passports are required by next summer, but who knows, it could be delayed again.

Just makes life easier with a passport anyway. Good idea to get one just to have it handy.

No, passports are required now.

If you want to avoid PA, stay south through WV and MD. Take I-95 through Delaware and into NJ. Pretty pointless, but if you wanted to...

Eh, just drive though PA. If you do your welcome to stop by my house to have a beer. Then you could convoy up with the rest of us PA Sho guys.

Travel with the group that will be coming from the Chicago area. Traveling in numbers is always better. And more fun. And more mischief. :naughty:

FWIW, the current date for requiring a passport for land crossings is set for June 1, 2009: "On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI. The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have a passport, passport card, or WHTI-compliant document."

Yup , true that , every people crossing the border will need a passport. Dont delay people , Canadian passport takes a couple months to deliver depending on requests.
