Has anyone went to stage 2 turbos with just a 93 tune? I have cold air intake, 3 bar, exhaust and thermostat. Looking for more power don't want to run meth or ethanol

Honest, if your upping the turbos, up the fuel. E30 is the go to for improved turbos. And of course new hpfp and lpfp.

I was able to run upgraded turbos on the stock fuel system but I was tuned for 93+100% methonal. I don’t think you’ll get the best bang for your buck with just upgraded turbos on the stock fuel system with just 93 octane. Without a happy fuel pressure increase I’m assuming your tuner will likely not push them much more than 16psi. And bc of that it’ll probably be around the same power increase as keeping turbos stock and switching to E30. Or keeping turbos stock and adding 100% meth. The cheapest bang for your buck would be to add Meth and switch to E30 and run a mildy meth dependent tune to keep fuel pressure happy for using E30. Which really isn’t anything sketchy at all…..relying on meth is the same as relying on your 3bar. The wording really makes a difference I think…Meth dependent sounds risky….but it’s just a tune accommodating your meth injection…sounds more comforting although it’s the same thing.

Depends on your desired goal and the efficiency of how you spend your money to achieve it. I’ve never had a problem with methonal and ethanol so I highly recommend both or either one also. If you solely run E30 you should upgrade at least your HPFP for safety. If you add Meth then you automatically have extra fuel covered.

Also you should go one step colder with spark plugs gapped to .026-.028.

I do have the spark plugs. Thanks for all the info. This is my daily driver and idk if I want to switch to E30 l. But after listening to both of your tips seems like 400whp is out of reach for me without switching :/

The only good reason for not switching to E30 is that it is not available. Unless you are in some remote part of Ohio you should be able to get it. Most people fear the mixing aspect, but it is much simpler than you think and well worth the minimal extra effort for the power it gives you. Throw a 200 dollar ethanol sensor and you know exactly what % you are at. My ethanol station was pretty consistent so I always used a 2 gallon 93 to 1 gallon e85 ratio when I filled up.

Definitely far greater bang for the buck than upgrading the turbos.

You have gearhead parts, just contact them for a tune. Its a stretch, but GH trann y smoothness may make some problems ease up at least. Best to add the pp cooler and change the trann y fluid. Just doing 1 drain and fill took my high temps away.

If you add pp cooler, get oem. Aftermarket ones are cheaply made. The mount holes are threaded into the crash bar already. At least they were on my 15. And install is easy. Cut the 2 hoses and T off to the new cooler. It will still run factory ac/tranny cooler and the aux cooler

Here is a list of the faster guys along with the mods and tuners. IMO I would skip ssi and lms. try a simple drain and fill a few times on the trans. Mine runs on a normal day will be around 160* 2013 PP

Met the owner of the only other SHO in my town at Hubler Ford couple days before Christmas, long story short, he has an LMS tune, I have a AJP tune, his 2016 at 106,000 miles is in for a tranny, mine at 48,000 was having a tranny flush. Dump the LMS tune, change the tranny fluid. Find a better tuner. Took him for a short ride in mine before it went in to service, he thought hard, clunky shifting was normal. He has now seen the light. Never belonged to a forum, I informed him and hope he at least joins this one.

Brad is hard to get a tune from but well worth the wait. His 93 tune is no joke! I will eat a lms meth tune all day every day.

I didnt see where you have upgraded your trans mounts. I highly recommend AD mounts. I wheel hopped on AJPs E30 tune. Mounts will save you a cheek puckering moment.

that was one of the first upgrades ive done was the trans mounts from him before i even tuned the car i wanted to be safe
but from what everyone is saying and from what i see i should beable to pick up quiet a bit just having brad tune my car compared to LMS.
best et so far is 12.58 @ 110 on lms 93 tune

car currently has
.28 plugs, 170 thermo, msd coils, upr catch can, airaid CAI, 3 bar, epp hot pipes and noisemaker delete, gearhead intercooler, dicunzolo mounts, and just recently added stainless works 2.5 catted highflow DP and the stainless works catback with the lms tune for it all

have you lowered your car? and if so did you notice any benefits as far as better launch? and how does it ride
looking to do a few exterior mods as well
and lastly is there anyone out there who build trans for this car or is stock trans with a good cooler just fine?
