I was waiting for you to point out the Cadillac. I'll take my Ford car over a government vehicle any day.

If GM made such quality cars or if they were such a quality company the US Department of Treasury wouldn't own 61% of the company.

And btw, Jaguar produced 10x better sedans than GM while under Ford ownership. Just sayin...

Then you have 0 clue. None. The Big 3 are paying for sins committed in the 80s and 90s, letting the foreign marques walk all over them for quality and value. If you think GM went under due to their current crop of cars, you're crazy. It usually takes about 10 years for public perception to match then's reality. Except for Toyota. Their quality started to falter when they overreached to be the #1 automaker in the world.

Good.

You mean the Grand Cherokee? If you look close it has the same interior as every other Chrysler.

And GM? GM doesn't do anything right anymore. Except Corvettes.

You sir, are high.

Thanks guys, but way2evil is the whiniest tool you'll ever meet. He's even got some ******** threads here. I wouldn't pay much attention to him. Every car has its issues. If he got a bad car, fine. But anyone who rode in mine at the Convention would have heard zero squeaks or rattles. And I've got a couple of track days now. But whiners will whine so you guys better get used to it...

I'm not quite that severe on it. But, to me, it's a Caddy with a Corvette engine transplant, something any backyard enthusiast could do with an engine hoist.

I think they should have used a Caddy engine. I liked the STS V better that had the 4.4 Northstar with the s/c engine. The CTS-V, while quite fast, just smells of a corporate parts-bin car. Why not keep it all Caddy with an appropriate engine? You don't see BMW putting in other engines.

The Sigma chassis can't fit a N*. And you drive a Ford with a Yamaha engine. Really, I don't give 2 of James' nuts as long as it's a good car...

Go read the cadillac forums. EVERYONE has the wheel click. EVERYONE has the squeaky dash/sunroof. ALMOST everyone has the isolator death rattle. You know what GMs solutions to these problems are? There are none. They dont know what to do.
And the big 3 are paying for their decades of making shit boxes. American cars have never been the same since GM made Caddy/Chevy/Buick/GMC all the same cars. For years and years they made shit that Americans accepted as "luxury" like Escalades and Suburbans. Now they are paying for it.

Kinda funny how you forgot Mercury. And I have no squeaky dash or sunroof. I got the wheel click when I tightened my rims while on the ground. If it's still in the air when I torque them, nothing. And GM does make improvements. Look at the original diff of the V1 compared to the Gen 4 diff that have had zero failures. GM has a number of engineers and reps registered on the forums themselves. Ford let Gen 3 owners to rot with the cam lobe issue. GM has not done that to us.

But you only deal in absolutes. "My sunroof squeaks as well as a few others so they all do". "My dash rattles and I heard a few others who had problems so they all do". Not quite. A few voices on a forum do not a majority make.

When did I say GM went under for their current crop of cars?

Thus far I've simply said that GM went under large in part of their inability to successfully manage a company. (Unions, legacy costs equaling $2,000 per car)

But hey apparently I don’t know anything since I don’t own a Cadillac. I’m guessing that as soon as you purchase one you attain a level of knowledge far superior to anyone else.....

That sure is what you implied when talking about the bankruptcy. And if you want to continue to bash GM, I'll continue to counter. As for owning a Cadillac, save it. Or continue being an ******, no matter.

I made it a point to not even let people know I bought the V because of people like you who would make rash, snap judgments. But since most who went to the SHO Convention knew, and talked about it, I figured what the ****. But you'll still ***** about it. A car is a car. If you think it makes you better, have at it. I don't.

I think the new LaCrosse and Regal are great looking cars inside and out, the thing is I don't know that I'd buy a LaCrosse over an ES350 like GM wants me to, Lexus still makes really good cars. MKS vs ES350, yeah probably cuz it's bigger, but it's also a couple K more expensive, but you're looking at 50k for the EB MKS. SHO presents a good arguement though!

I'm sure that GM, Ford, and Toyota don't really care what I think though, I don't have 40k burning a hole in my pocket right now! :D

I'm being an ******? You're the one that started baiting with the comment "how long did it take Ford to get a high performance sedan back on the road" You obviously wanted an opportunity to point out your car (GM) on a SHO board... hmm

What do I care what car you own? I could care less in so far as you don't try and bait people by pointing out well it took Ford so many years to put a performance sedan on the road while I am driving a top of the line American made sports sedan (two can infer).

But whatever. Thread closed for me.

I'm just happy to see that Ford is the only US automaker that isn't stagnant. At least they're pushing new things out and being inventive.

The new exploder kind of looks like a crossover. I'll have to check one out when they get to the lot.

Really? I'm baiting? You called GM stagnant and uninventive. I responded with what GM has been doing lately. I'm not baiting or making anything up here. If you simply forgot your over-the-top statement, that's fine. But you said what you said and it was wrong.

Awesome! Make a right turn and head on over.
That'd be wierd since I'm driving east. I'd end up in Omaha or something. Did you turn the map around again?

Ah crap, this thread is about trucks, err... pseudo-trucks, where the heck have I been?! :nut: Next time Kirk is driving!

My Toy

Look at my avatar ! Yes , it's a Chevy SSR Pickup Truck .
Yes I really like the concept & do have fun with it , however it's a piece of s*** !

GM built this as a "halo" vehicle ie; Corvette , etc. Thats a big joke !

It is literally the poorest built vehicle I've ever owned in more then 60 years of oweing well over 100 cars.

It's my toy along with my 2010 SHO which is 10 times the vehicle & the sticker price on the SSR was $10,000 HIGHER than the $46.000 the SHO listed for.

I purchased it new in March 2004 & I now have less than 10,000 miles on it.

By the way I purchased an extended 7yr warrenty because all the trouble people were having with them.

I absolutely will never buy another GM or Chrysler built Vehicle !
