If GM made such quality cars or if they were such a quality company the US Department of Treasury wouldn't own 61% of the company.

It's a good thing neither of those are even remotely related.

That over-hyped POS was the fastest production sedan to go 'round the Nürburgring before the [ugly-as-sin] Panamera beat it out by a few seconds.

You sir, are high.

No, I am not. Unfortunately I own a POS 2009 V with a 6spd. Worst car I have ever driven. Who cares how fast it can go around the ring. Do you drive on the ring every day? No? I would take quality over a few seconds of lap time.

THe Flex is not an SUV but a van for on road only. The Explorer is an SUV but will be slow, underpowered with either the V6 or the (oddly) more expensive Ecoboost 2.0 in comparison to my Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi; has CAI, TB, SuperChip, with around 390 HP, HD end links, SRT8 sway bars, Bilsteins, and handles and corners well. As an example Here is a Jeep staying ahead of a Subie STI running hot laps at Gingerman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DiPM5hHmXnA

Yea, and hows the fuel economy of an SRT8 or your Hemi? Maybe 20mpg when hyper-miling it. The Explorer will get around 20mpg in the city and 26mpg on the hwy with the 2.0L and about 24mpg with the V6. That's a huge savings over time.

Also Gingerman is a course that rewards lots of power over handling IMO and that's speaking from LeMons experience there.

I'll gladly take it off your hands.

What's so bad about it? I've only ridden in thebigjimsho's '09 once, which was during the convention track day, so I was too busy locating and utilizing the 'OH SHIT!' handle to pay attention to anything else. It is a quality oh shit handle, though. Didn't budge or flex one bit.

No, you ruined my statement. The CTS-V is an overhyped under delivered POS.

I'm not quite that severe on it. But, to me, it's a Caddy with a Corvette engine transplant, something any backyard enthusiast could do with an engine hoist.

I think they should have used a Caddy engine. I liked the STS V better that had the 4.4 Northstar with the s/c engine. The CTS-V, while quite fast, just smells of a corporate parts-bin car. Why not keep it all Caddy with an appropriate engine? You don't see BMW putting in other engines.

You're right. Requiring the tax payers to bail a company out speaks volumes of the overall quality of the company, its management, and the products it produces.

I'm still waiting on my company car courtesy US Department of Treasury.

Its just built like shit. The wheels click, the sunroof creaks, the dash creaks over bumps, the transmission is a POS, nav sucks.

I guess its a good car if you are the typical American who thinks cadillac is a luxury car, but really its just a corvette with a cadillac badge.

I'm also trading it in on a Raptor soon. Will post pics.

As someone who has had 3 Northstar Caddy's and a half-dozen vehicles with the small block Chevy engine, I can tell you there is no comparison. Northstars' are much more complex and trouble-prone. Oil leaks, head gaskets, expensive parts, and no real aftermarket performance items.

Cadillac should have gotten rid of it after the first generation, and made the Chevy small block v-8 it's standard bearer.

And... BMW uses the same group of engines in all of their series. Look at Audi and it's other name-sakes, like Lambo and Bentley... and the lower end VW, lots of engine sharing. Nissan and Infiniti- 3.7 is in almost everything significant.

Our EB engine is in both Ford brands, and currently in 4 models. Look for this to expand.

You have to see the Panamera in person. It's absolutely amazing and looks great. The media pictures do it NO justice. :hail:

Saw one in downtown Boston. It's not as bad as I made it out to be, but I prefer the look of the Caddy.

Oh, I don't know...

The Malibu, the Regal(GS FTW), and maybe what's in my sig...

James, the Caddy is a whole other world.. Good car, good look, and great parts.. The Malibu and the regal and the Impaler are all pieces of shit.

Im sorry but the whole rear wheel drive SBC thing is as old as well me.. its time for Gm to develop something new.

Ive driven the GXP, new camaro, gto and it all reminds me of my 1987 Iroc Z.. its time for a change.. and except for the Caddy the interiors blow..

IMO

Those mpg figures are estimates for the Exploder for 2WD, not AWD; Sure, the SRT8 6.1 mpg is horrible. My Hemi gets 21 mpg at 65 mph with the mods, and Quadradrive II AWD (dual LSD's), while new it was under 18. The new 2011 Jeep has a very similar new V6 to the Explorers, yet underpowered for so much weight.
Most SUV's are posers and on road most have horrible handling. All previous edition Explorers are the worst of any I have driven in terms of handling and ride, and they are terrible offroad. The 2011 Jeep GC is great on road, and incredibly capable off road while the Explorer is more for soccer moms, not useful for trail running.

Yep. In the SBC, GM has perfected the buggy whip. Ford, with the original 4.6, was a bit low on bottom-end torque. The 5.4 had a longer stroke, and got better torque. From all I've read, the new 6.2 is oversquare, and they have tuned in a ton of torque throughout the rpm range.

Ford is advancing the ball. GM has not had good success with OHC engines in the past, and their pushrod engines are at the end of the line. The Northstar 4.6 being the one exception, and they haven't done much with it, except for the 4.4 s/c version in the STS. They are behind the 8-Ball.

I drive by the Porsche dealer everyday on the way home and in person that thing is still butt a$$ ugly :nut: The interior is gorgeous but the outside is a bit, well, ugly... But they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it's just not my preference to behold it....
