would take another white Gen 3 please

Yup. And no the suit has not been won by anybody - it is still ongoing. I have not been a plantiff in the suit for four years. It'll end sooner or later and yup no one died, however lots suffered financially when Ford abandoned them even under warranty. Bad blinker fluid??
GIV is sweet ride.

In a consumer society, I am not sure that winning a court case brings closure. When you buy a new car, and you have more trouble than the one you traded in, you may loose that customer. If you deny there is trouble, you definately loose that customer. Where I am from, there is a food company that actually killed people. They went on TV, accepted unconditional responsibility, were out of business for months, paid out the penalties, kept their name; and now I read in the paper thay are making huge profits again.
What happened at Ford is what happens when a car company is run by accountants and not "car guys". I am sure that the "car guys" wanted to do the right thing for their customers.
And yes, this is going to hurt this new model sales numbers. But don't worry, the accountants and risk assessment managers have determined this was less expensive.

A long time ago a freind called me and said you catch more bees with honey, than **** if I know the other part.. The whole Gen 3 thing should have been handled a bit different, a bit nicer and the whole club should have been part of it. But the way it was done with only a few real supporters its was never going to happen and never will. You know that as well as I do!

Now its time just to get them all fixed and forget about anything else. Like I always said a cam weld is much cheaper than a 60k so its just something that has to be done.

Just think of all the people it has helped though! I know funny look right, but now look at all the people that can buy a once 30k car for 500.00 and for 1000-3000 get a motor in and have a wonderful car.

Yep The ECOSHO is a AWESOME car! I love it! But still cant seem to get used to it yet.. The Gen 3 I put 1000's of miles on it and got the seat just right ect ect.. This one im just driving the snot out of 0-100 and 1/4 mile stuff and not putting any real seat time in it like a Nice drive to O.K..

Also back to the GEN3, there werent all that many that did have the failure under the 3-36 warranty.. I know there were some, but not the amount that has happened in all.. Shit the real first time we really knew what was going on was in tulsa in 01, and that was after all the 96 and 97 and some 98s warrantys had long expired.

We will be watching the new car like a hawk! Trust Me!

Sure Ford lost a few customers, but Ill bet you they are already looking at the new car and saying I want one.. I had the first cam failure guy under warranty that we know off and that is part of the SHO world here a week or two ago that swore against Ford forever and he drives a BMW 5 series.. I took him for a ride and seen the excitement in his face! He will be back for sure! And he also bought a Gen 1 last year..

The V8 world has suffered a small hit, most guys that have or had one will always love the car and some will buy another again! Now they know to ask if its been welded and if not they know where to get it fixed..

Look at Porter! He said NO SHO will ever be worth any kind of money! yet he bought a Perfect 1989 and paid ok money for it.. People change!

I will get a White one again some day and recreate Stormtrooper, why because I loved the car.. camfail or not..

I hope you are right about the "I want one" thing. I have never warmed up to the Gen 3SHO, not because of the cam failures - because of the styling. I am almost ready to look at a 96, and hearing you talk has sharpened my interest. So people do change. That Symphony of Ovals dash still creeps me out, but I am sure it can be overcome. I am still deeply in love with my 95 MTX (we are still on our honeymoon), and I don't want to two-time her so soon.

Providing your not looking for burnouts and real low end grunt, you will love the G3.. Take your 95 to a 100 and hold her there for a bit then take the G3 and do the same. I bet you have a big smile at how much the G3 is more stable and trust worthy than a G1-2.

All cars are going to have problems, especially when they roll out into a new platform. Sometimes these problems are not known right away because they just don't happen right away. Some are, and generally speaking, they're handled via recall fairly promptly.

Take the 93 ATX and their fantastic transmissions (NOT!) as an example. I'm sure that there were a few that failed within the warranty period, but I have no numbers in front of me either way. I'm just showing one small example of a significant problem.

In February, the 1 question I heard asked the most about the G4 was not about the cams, it was whether or not the transmission going to hold up under the power. I think that is the one thing that most consumers are concerned about regardless of whether they're SHO fanatics or not.

I will not say that I don't think that V8 owners got the short end of the stick, because I believe that they did to a certain extent. I firmly believe that if the numbers are there then the courts will find in their (the owners) favor. If they aren't, then Ford will prevail.

I say onward and upward!

(Now how long will it stay open? LMAO! )

I broke my own rule about never buying a first year model. I've got a few friends that work at Ford and they said that might have been true in the past, but they (Ford) have done extensive testing to make sure that won't happen. Now that I've said that, my tranny will blow! Did I dream it or did I hear that the SHO tranny is beefed up a little more.

It is beefed up a little bit over the standard Taurus tranny, but not by much. It's rated around 400 ft-lbs max, however beefcake's is still going strong and he has to be making over that, so who knows...

To insure there is no doubt in the event Amy is lurking. I want the ecoboost to take the world by storm. Shit I hope that drive train winds up in the next version of Zoom.

All I'm pointing out is the obvious. By that ad, Ford has aborrgated the GIII and IMHO that just isn't right. It's part of the legacy. It should not be ignored cuz some button headed engineer thought press fit was a great idea on a cosworth bottom end engine.

Crap Amy and her crew were still in HS when the fecial material hit the oscillating device. Aint their fault.

My only beef, and admittedly it's minor, is that they refuse to acknowledge that there was a GIII.

Kirk, we have motion hearings coming up in a month or so, so I'm not sure where you are getting your information from. This suit is beginning to look more like the damn alamo! And frankly it's no longer about winning or losing, it's just more about accepting responsibility as a manufacturer.

Guys like NESHO and Torrie and Nimz will delve into the real possibilities of the GIV. Thats one of the reasons I'm perfectly willing to wait until they come off program, Just like I did for SW9. (slug that it was, it sure was purty)

I do not want to have to answer those consumers that may stumble across cam failure.com when then ask about the GIV. It's a whole different taco.
The GIV rox!

And make no bones, these consumers will be much more versed in basics than we were when we guppied the GIII. Remember when we had Doctors and lawyers and Cops and White collar guys on the list? That's where it's headed. The Marketing campaign that Ford has launched is simple. All in. This is the flagship and Ryan should be damn proud that he forced the issue.

You and Torrie and the guys in MD explore the boundaries of tuning and make this thing what Ford's attorneys would not allow. A kick ass 4dr sleeper.

The GIII suit is alive and well. It just doesn't know it's destination yet. We are 8 for 8 in knocking down ******** motions for dismissal. It ain't over until the portly broad..... Welll you know the rest.

You know, Ford's cam issue comes down to one massive problem. they should have invested their money in a 3.5 SHO only duratec right off the bat and ditched their budgeted and not-truly Yamaha 3.4.

As for Conan, what do you expect the guy to say? You either like his material because he's Conan, or you don't. He can bash the SHO. Plenty of people can truly care LESS about an AWD twin turbo'd... Automatic SHO. Whatever! I love it and I enjoy Conan.

If I shot down everyone I disagreed with.. Well, there wouldn't be many surviving gen 3 owners I would dare speak with! G4 is great for what it is although I've heard compliants about interior space and my personal questions about extremity of the cars "stealth".

Still somewhere to start off a fresh new SHO lifestyle!
