I changed my heater core earlier this year around February and my window is fogging up. Please tell me this isn't so.

possibly a leaking heater core? or incorrect install of the heater core? i've noticed in the past you can almost smell a little coolant when entering the vehicle..

Jack the car up and see if the oil pan gasket is leaking.

I personally think you would know if it was coolant. It has a smell all it's own.

Mine is now going through about 1/2 a QT. every 700miles, depending on how hard I run it.


Before anybody says "FIX IT YOU *****" I have the gasket kit in the trunk and it's going on this weekend.

Because I don't see a question about heater cores in post #1. Surely with all the humidity in Houston fogging windows aren't uncommon.

Does the interior of the car smell like antifreeze?

Is there some reason other than fogging windows that causes you concern about the new heater core?

No not really...it just fogs up a little. It wasn't doing that before I did the clutch though, and its annoying.
