my first problem is the cruise control went out and i checked all the fuses in the box by the drivers seat. does anyone know what it could be?

the second problem is the windows have been working and then not working, sometimes they would only work right when you turn the car on, sometimes they work like normal and sometimes they dont work at all, any ideas?

1) Cruise control. It could be the servo, the cruise control amplifier, the switches, the VSS, the vacuum dump switch, vacuum to the servo, power, clutch switch (if MTX), the brake light switch, and a few more things. Get the picture? You will need to get and follow the service diagnostic procedure instead of guessing. One freebie is possible: Sometimes the servo cable comes off the throttle. Check that.

2) Windows. Are all the windows (including moonroof, if present) affected? All at the same time? Do individual window switches work when the master driver's switch doesn't? Whatever the cause, you have an intermittent electrical connection somewhere. Be prepared for some frustration.

As far as the power windows go, i used to have a simmilar problem. Mine used to open but not close, and sometimes, a lot of clicking was required to make them move. I guess 12 years of clicking made the contacts kind of dirty. On top of the switch is a screw. Remove it. Pull out the switch and the wires behind it. Then on the top and bottom of the switch there are 2 screws, i think that they are 8 mm or somewhere around there, maybe 7mm. Once you take those 2 off, the wiring will come out and you will be left with the pins connecting to the wiring. Clean those out. Then carefully bend back those 6 small metal tabs (on the drivers door switch) You don't want them to break. After that, just take something small... a skinny screwdriver, small jacknife, or even some sandpaper and clean out those contacts. Its interesting the way they work. You will see it. The small metal tab hooks into that little hook thing and stays open untill you push it. If it falls off, you have to wedge it back into the little hook thing. Open it up and you will see what i mean. Anyway, carefully scrape those contacts untill you get the black off of it. Use some solvent if you have any, it makes the job easier. Put it back together, bend those tabs back in, (don't break em) and put the screws back, pop the switch back in and you are done, with working windows in the car. [assuming thats what was broken in the first place] It was on my car and you can do that to fix it. Or if you don't wanna go through the trouble, buy an extra power window switch. Driver's door switches are usually the first to go because they are the most clicked. I think i have an extra one lying around somewhere, if anyone wants it. (gen I) If that didn't do it, then check the usual such as loose wiring, etc. I hope that this helps. Good luck.
