So i was going through my old sho parts and i found the old intake from my 93 ATX sho. It looks a little shorter than my 90 MTX? Did the mtx and atx have different intakes?

My 90 mtx seems to be very restrictive compared to the 93 ATX. Anyone have some insight to this?

I have noticed this as well. I never considered it to be a change that would modify power. I think the crossover tube changed because the timing cover changed.

crossover tube is different because the DIS is in a slightly different location on the atx v. the mtx because of the difference in engine location (farther forward on the atx). not much air flows through the crossover tube, so no biggie on the smaller diameter.

maybe high boosted engine might see a small performance gain with the bigger one...
personally i always ran the bigger one since i always run 3.2

If the engine is running correctly, zero air will flow through the crossover tube. Prototype intakes didn't even have one. The point could be made that there's a reason there was one on the production intake, but I'm willing to bet DIS mounting was a bigger reason for that than pulse equalization.

I wouldn't worry about the diameter of the crossover tube.

The dis is located differently on the atx cars, so they are different atx/mtx.
