Hello I'm most likely repeating this post or I'm brain dead when it comes to pulling codes. but hear goes. Recently I picked up a 1995 white in color SHO (I love these cars). It had been sitting for 2 years because the gentleman was tired of fixing it. I on the other hand enjoy being beaten to death by troublesome cars it seams (See Posts on my wife's SHO.)
Because of past fun problems with my wife's 89 and my 90 SHO (Never should have sold that Baby) I have had some interesting luck with these wonderful cars. I had been reading up on some post on the codes, and to me, I'm getting some different readings from what I understand. Engine off key on gen 1 is a two digit code and gen 2 is a 3 digit, or flash code. This is what I'm reading I preformed this 5 times with a "inova IEC code reader. Same results each time 565 565 121 421 4, My mind says What? That don't make sense. But I was born in the Sixties so there you go.
The car will run fairly good not perfect which I expected for 200k+ miles No smoking Strong Hesitates a little. To me that's to be expected and then it stops. Just stops. I can crank it a few times and it acts like Very Bad Timing. No power. if I let it sit it will not start, with out flooring it and cranking it then it will start. If I disconnect the Battery it will start idle a 1.5 then drop to 1.25 it has a new idle air valve but nothing else visible that I can see has been changed.
At 45hundred rpms it sputters a lot. I have found some loose vacuum lines. and have replaced or reattached them to no avail.
my wife's car had a very smiler problem and it ended up being the lower cam gear was slipping on the crank key. This doesn't seem to bee the case here. I do have another 1993 SHO which I picked up for parts (Sorry sold the bumpers and lights and Dash,Motor Blown. wish I hadn't, now I have this 95 Hind site).
Am I in the right ball part thinking this is just a TPS problem or am I in in the dugout.
