My driver door has an issue. The door cannot be opened using the inside handle. To exit the car, I have to let down the window and use the outside handle. What would cause the latch to work from the outside but not the inside? My mechanic thinks I need a new driver door latch but finding one that works with the keyless entry keypad (part number F5DZ5421813E) has proven to be difficult. Anybody have thoughts on this?

If the door opens from the outside, then the outside door handle is working fine. There are several reasons that the inside handle may not work - most likely is that the handle has broken or that the rod connecting the inside handle to the latch has come off or bent. To learn what is wrong, you will need to remove the inside door panel.

btw, the outside door latch is no different between cars that have or do not have the keyless entry pad.

As mentioned above either the rod detached or part of the handle is broken. Does the inside handle feel like there is no resistance? If so, the spring has broken and you would need to get a new inside door handle as well.
