Maybe all related??/
#1 - Door Ajar light on. Dome lights are NOT on. I have read many posts about some mysterious switch in the doors. Can ANYONE provide information about where this is? Someone that has had to repair it? I have the drivers door panel off, and the mechanism is very hard to see and get to. But i do see wires going to it.

#2 - Keyless entry doesn't work. Doesn't light up anymore, nothing...

#3 - My locks do not automatically lock when I put the car in drive.

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions....

As for the driver's door ajar light, there is a mechanism in the door that tells the computer if the door is open or not. I worked at a ford bodyshop for 4 years and what we would do is hose the latch, in and out of the door, with penatrating oil and open and close the door until the switch got unstuck and the light went away. It works 90% of the time for me. Just let the oil soak alittle first then just open-close-open-close-open-close, watching the dash light. As for the other problems they may be related cause the computer thinks the driver oor is open, but I doubt it.

For your first question, just spray WD-40 in the door latch, then open and close the doors a couple times rapidly, do it with every door, should fix the problem

1) As mentioned, the DA light is a part of the latch. If you can't fix it with the above method, there is a single wire that leads to the latch. Pull it, and the DA will never light again.

2) Likely a dead pad. Can be a ***** to replace. I have a known goo replacement if you need one. PM me for details.

3) Autoloc is only available on the ATX, and isn't set from the factory. Problem is, you activate and deactivate it VIA the keypad, which is non functional in your case...

No Luck. I got wd40, soaked it pretty good in the latch, open and closed it many many times over a 30 minute period. Still have the DA light. I tried disconnecting both wires that are plugged in to the latch mechanism, on the driver's door, the da light did not go out. (I thought I read on the forums it would go out) Maybe it will need to soak in over night????? Or the switch is bad. I'm not sure which is the switch still at this point. Very frustrating.

Maybe let it soak a bit and try again, it could also need a new switch. Also please do not make duplicate threads in different forums.

^^^Agreed^^^ once you get the keypad working you will be able to guard/disguard the autolock. good luck with replacing that :thumb:

soaking in...

I am letting it sit and soak in today, after work I will try it. (Sorry for the multiple posts, first time learning curve. Thanks)
Yes, I did do all 4 doors...
Which on is the switch in question. It is hard to see, but there are two seperate wires going to the latch.

IIRC (i took my passenger side door latch assembly out and replaced with another unit last fall), there is only one wire, with a plastic connector for the door ajar light. i got the other latch assembly out of a normal taurus. it had no door ajar light connection, so the wire is hanging in my door
