Many of you remember last year when I lost my CF hood. It left some nasty little dents in my roof, rippled my roof on the corners of the moonroof. Then recently noticed there was a different kind of ripple towards the middle rear of the roof, about a foot from the rear window.

Life has kept me pretty busy, money not much of an availability, and so after supplies were purchased about 11 months ago, the time has now come.

Not even thinking it was going to happen due to some financial changes, my dear lovely wife, surprised me. As a part of her wedding gift to me, she contributed to this and with some other means of funding, its now going to happen. :)

Paul (quikSHOilver) and his brother Mark will be handling the job of fixing the dents in the roof and a full repaint in the original color along with adding some nice touches along the way. This thread will be updated as progress happens.

Let the pics begin:

How I left it...

For those who dont know exactly what you are talking about, can you post some pics of the roof damage?

I was at ground zero and saw the carnage first hand. Helped Mike remove what was left of the CF hood.

I am thankful for Chad coming back for me on the trip up to last year's convention, we caravan'd together the rest of the way up 400+ miles looking through the splintered windshield in the sunlight. It was fun. :)
Here is the carnage of what caused this repair...

There are also some ripples in the roof on either side of the moonroof.

Right after the hood let go...

Good luck on the project. Can't wait to see it done. I had a green 94 and always wanted the blue.

Said it b/4 and will say it again, if it weren't for Chad, I'm guessing that car would never have been driven to St. Cloud after that. I can assure you I would not have done so, despite the ultimate successful completion of the trip.

Quite the immersion in the cleansing waters of SHOdor.

Subscribed. Does this mean you got the 90 running well again?

Nope, not really.

This plug here (the one that had to be spliced in so a SHO fan could be put back in):

It is clipped together as it should be, but after a ride across town, hitting enough bumps in the cut intrax-leaking tokicos suspension, it loses connection just enough where it makes the ccrm cycle like crazy. Then to get it going again, all I do is TOUCH that plug and the ccrm cycling stops and the car runs fine. Not sure how to fix it. This is driving me mad.

Just had carpel tunnel surgery on my left hand, probably not driving much over the next few weeks.

I dunno how dead set you are to keeping it 100% stock but it may be easier to just go buy a run of the mill 2 prong connector set and solder them in.

That's what I was just going to suggest! Why keep the plug? Just hard wire it in!
