I just got a 92 SHO and the guy said when i got it that the throw out bearing is making noise sometimes when u start it but not always. The car did sit for a while after that and now the clutch is not working right. It wont switch gears right. I got a price on a new clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing it is 750 for parts and labor that is the cheapest i could find. Is that a good deal and is this a good idea to get it all fixed at once? Thanks

I recommend getting the ceramic TOB from Josh at SHOnut Performance.

The clutch job is difficult, replace everything while your in there.

$750 is pretty good with labor included. Labor usually runs around $650. Although, you might want to get a better clutch than stock. Josh at SHOnut, Mike at Midwest, and SPmotorsports all have some nice aftermarket clutches.

That's a fair price for a clutch job. I think the Ford/Valeo kit is around $260-$270 or so and there is a fair amout of labor involved. You could always save the $500 and do it yourself (if you can). There are lots of people here that can help you out if you go the do-it-yourself route. You'll save a bunch of cash and learn a bunch about your car at the same time :thumb:

$750 for parts AND labor is a good price.
I paid somewhere around $300 for a stock clutch kit.
So $450 for install is ok.
This is a major job for a first timer, but is doable.
Search the forums for any posts on installation and get an idea if you think you can do it.
Ditto on the Ceramis TOB from Josh at www.shonutperformance.com
When you refill the tranny with fluid, spen a little more and get synthetic fluid.
WELL worth the few extra dollars.
Good luck.
