wtf does that mean? I came back from california and I was thinking the air temperature was a lot lower than expected. Is it possible that my car and I think alike? I only showed the 114 code in both KOEO and KOER My car has been sitting outside for about 1.5 weeks in maryland. It's been outside through snow, wind, and single digit temperatures so I've been told :( I think it's in the 30's today but it may have very well been low in the 20's when I was out there. I ran tests after warming the car up for 10 minutes or so. The thing came to life almost instantly :) What shall I do?

While tracking down a pesky CE light, I came up the that code also. I changed out the ACT sensor, and still had problems with the light. Finally replaced both O2 sensors, and no more CE light. Went to a friends shop and ran it through an emissions test, and came up nice and clean. Did the KOEO self-test, and am still getting code 114. I choose to ignore it. If anyone has anymore information on this though, I'd be more than willing to look further into it.

sunny San Juan Bautista,
Either the ACT sensor is bad or there's excessive resistance in the circuit from the ACT sensor to the computer or there's a short in that circuit.

Where is that sensor? Is that the orange shaped thing in the bottom of the airbox?

are you guys using k&n's in the bay as opposed to the air box by chance? thats one of the few things i can think of...otherwise im blank..
I'm using the standard air filter unfortunately. I'm too broke to buy the k&n. What is the best way to get the cold air into the system? I've read about a lot of different methods including the cold air can with a cone filter or installing a ram air setup with a large drain tube.

I dont' think that code throws the ce light. I'm just guessing but anything that throws the check engine light should be stored in memory? This message only comes up while testing. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If you want to localize the sensor itself, I just went and checked the resistance of mine. If I blew very slowly (created a hot air stream) the resistance dropped to around 23 Ohms. When I blew a jet (cooler air) it jumped to about 35 omhs. Ambient temp was around 50 degrees, which equated to about 27 ohms. You might check yours just to make sure it does have any opens. I would guess it has a failure in the circuitry. As an alternate, try cleaning your MAF too.

well from what ive seen on the forum, if youre not making a short "ram air" (quotes because we all know its not a real ram air like a WS6 trans am) right to the fender well bottom then use the stock box with a drop-in k&n panel filter. leaving the cone in the bay allows it to soak in alot of heat. i have it that way now (the sound is pretty nice) but im going back to the stock box pretty soon. i have heard good things AND bad things about the SHO shop CAI can filter-in-fender, but its a bit pricey.

Yeah Hayden, no light thrown and if I run the self-test, I come up with a 114. I am running a K&N, but I already replaced the ACT switch with a brand new one from Ford. I don't suppose any knows how to bench test the sensor?

well recently my CE light was being throw and the only code i came up with was a 114, but it has been extremly cold and it seemed to throw it either real early in the morning or at night. I havent had it since i replaced the sensor, so we will see, but i think it does throw a light if its out of range
