Yeah, it will be nice to actually put her on the floor and not have to worry about road/street things. That looks pretty fun.

Blahaha it is about damn time. Of course, please keep us all update here.Forgive me for cluttering up your thread here but figured it’s the most appropriate place for M updates.

So I couldn’t resist any longer, or maybe $6 premium forced my hand. Either way, put her on e30. Been watching the coolant like a hawk. I know I shouldn’t but I’ve been daily driving this spring, mostly because I just missed driving her. I’ve gone about 700 miles since her winter slumber and haven’t lost any more coolant. I had just under 1,000 miles on the oil before storage so 300 more will be 2,000 and I’ll do a change, collect a sample, and get it off to Blackstone to see what they see.
Not trying to convince myself the pump isn’t leaking, mostly just to know I’m safe’ish till I get all the plans in order.
I will say, after the tune settled in, M on e30 is a blast to drive!
Not too bad. That thing is pretty F’ing slick.
I saw that the other day. That thing is massive. I would think having a 5th wheel would be easier honestly.
At what point is the ease and convenience of having an in bed camper too much. That would make me more nervous than pulling a 40' 5th wheel on single rear wheel set up.I saw that the other day. That thing is massive. I would think having a 5th wheel would be easier honestly.

I could see the small set up for business, hunting ect.At what point is the ease and convenience of having an in bed camper too much. That would make me more nervous than pulling a 40' 5th wheel on single rear wheel set up.
I personally like how the hotshot guys do it, convert the back seat into a bed. Beyond that a camping stove and a roll of toilet paper is all you need.

Might be a little cozy for 2 but not impossible
While hunting an example for above I stumbled on the zoom room lol

Keep most of the bed, keep the cab, just enough for sleeping, perfect. If I ever got into a 450/550 I'd do hotshots in a heartbeat.
I will write that in my notes. We have a big road atlas with all 50 states, and I write notes like that directly on it.Well, when you find yourself checking Indiana off the list I highly recommend staying at Turkey Run state park. Hike trail 9 and 5, you won’t regret it. Far and away unlike anything common to Indiana. Indiana Dunes lakeshore is ok too I guess but nothing special, maybe just because I grew up around them. We have a nation full of far superior sandy beaches… without steel mills.
I navigated by road signs on the way up to TN, easiest trip ever. As soon as I resorted to the GPS to get home, confusing and full of horrible roads.Only way I travel, on paper. 18x24 Rand McNally road atlas, tells you everything you need to know. Anything you don’t, part of the adventure.
It is ambitious, but I like challenges. She officially has been to 14 states. We are planning to head back to Florida when she is 12. I want to see the Keys ect.... I will take you up on the coffee meet up.I commend your efforts as a father to be part of your daughter experiencing the nation. That's incredibly rare both as an accomplishment and as an aspiration. I hope you and yours get to see every state and what beauty isn't destroyed in this country by your deadline. Mine are 13, 12, and 8 (girl, girl, boy) and I'd love nothing more than to road trip the country if they'd stop fighting for 5 minutes lol. I think the 5th wheel is the right move for your needs, can't wait to see the whole rig when you got it together.
When you make it to Florida let me know, we'll meet up for coffee and I'll show you the fastest way out of this place. Hot muggy and everything wants to k!II you, @kryptto can back me up here, but he might know of some better spots. Where I'm at there are banjos, liberals, and morgan wallen fans. The springs are cool I guess
I like that. Well said.Only way I travel, on paper. 18x24 Rand McNally road atlas, tells you everything you need to know. Anything you don’t, part of the adventure.
You mean you don't like your sore throat anytime you go for a swim..?Well, when you find yourself checking Indiana off the list I highly recommend staying at Turkey Run state park.
