I need to find a runway event, I found a private airstrip deep in a high end beach community, so deep i guess they didnt see the need to gate one side. My wife reminded me its a 6 mile one way in one way out get away route and told me not to do it. She is my better half because if not for the likelihood of getting the cops called on me she would've been all for it.

Pictures of the event please!

When I had my injectors and fuel system installed, we could only get the fuel pressure up to 55 psi. I am running a double regulated system. One regulator on top of the motor at the fuel distribution block.

The second regulator is on the AirDog.

This was down from the the 65 psi from stock. However, Full Force Injectors have a window for pressures to work properly. That window is 55 psi to 65 psi. So at 55 psi, technically we were in the window. So I went out and messed with the return regulator on top. I messed with the jam nut, and was able to run the pressure up to 70 psi. Locked the jam nut on top, and then I went under the truck to the Air Dog and bumped that regulator down to 65 psi.

With the injectors and fuel pressure set at 55 psi, the truck ran really good. Lots of power and very little smoke. It was rare the EGTs ever went over 1250 F even pulling a heavy load up hill. On the Andrew Arthur tune (I call it The Do it For Dale Tune, because I put it in the 3rd position in my Hyrda) at 40+ psi of boost she is rolling, with EGT's of 1050 F ish, and very little smoke. I have AA tunes and Gearhead Tunes.

Now at 65 psi it is a completely different truck across all of the tunes across the whole powerband. On the "Do it for Dale Tune," it probably picked up another 40 to 50 hp, and at least another 100 lbs of tq. At 40+ psi of a boost I feel like Space Ball One. Shit is going PLAID! Except, there at 1200 F EGTS, quite a bit of smoke, and now I am really starting to consider brake upgrades. When towing almost 21k lbs, the brakes are great. Getting Betty down from 100 mph is different story.

Trans is still happy which blows my mind.

Forgive me for cluttering up your thread here but figured it’s the most appropriate place for M updates.

So I couldn’t resist any longer, or maybe $6 premium forced my hand. Either way, put her on e30. Been watching the coolant like a hawk. I know I shouldn’t but I’ve been daily driving this spring, mostly because I just missed driving her. I’ve gone about 700 miles since her winter slumber and haven’t lost any more coolant. I had just under 1,000 miles on the oil before storage so 300 more will be 2,000 and I’ll do a change, collect a sample, and get it off to Blackstone to see what they see.

Not trying to convince myself the pump isn’t leaking, mostly just to know I’m safe’ish till I get all the plans in order.

I will say, after the tune settled in, M on e30 is a blast to drive!

I saw that the other day. That thing is massive. I would think having a 5th wheel would be easier honestly.
At what point is the ease and convenience of having an in bed camper too much. That would make me more nervous than pulling a 40' 5th wheel on single rear wheel set up.

I personally like how the hotshot guys do it, convert the back seat into a bed. Beyond that a camping stove and a roll of toilet paper is all you need.

Might be a little cozy for 2 but not impossible

While hunting an example for above I stumbled on the zoom room lol

Keep most of the bed, keep the cab, just enough for sleeping, perfect. If I ever got into a 450/550 I'd do hotshots in a heartbeat.

I could see the small set up for business, hunting ect.

IIRC he was using that rig for permanent on road residence. Just looking at it and knowing what I know, I would venture to say he is over weight. He says the set up weighs 17k lbs. I personally can't tell if his trucks is actually a F550 with a GVWR of 17.5k lbs. It is rare to actually see a F550 with a true dually bed in the wild. I think I have see one. Also him being not on 19.5's throws another red flag for me. If his truck is an up badged F350, then he is severely overweight and that is crazy.

Own personal thoughts,

I like my Lance Camper. If it was just me I wouldn't think twice, because it is the perfect amount of space. However, it is big and heavy. My truck weighs 9780 lbs in daily mode, and the camper is another 4800 - 5100 lbs in travel configuration. That is right at GVWR for my truck being 15k lbs. Most of that weight (11k) is right on the rear axle. I am really not a fan of that honestly.

Since, I am planning a bunch of road trips and my daughter is growing like a weed, I am considering selling the Lance 1062 within the next year and picking up a mid size 5th wheel. Having a 2500 lb pin weight (at the heaviest) is going to be a lot easier on the truck vs the 5000 lbs camper. The extra room and privacy (esp with a rear bunk model) will be welcome, and not having to tow a car trailer and extra car will be welcome. We can just set up, drop the 5th wheel, and use the truck for transportation.

I did and am continuing all the upgrades to my truck in anticipation of having some epic road trips with my family. I am trying to get my daughter to all 50 states before she turns 18. I have 8.5 years left, and Betty is going to do the bulk of that travel as we also try to hit as many national parks within those states as well. So I believe the change in space is going to be needed.

Well, when you find yourself checking Indiana off the list I highly recommend staying at Turkey Run state park. Hike trail 9 and 5, you won’t regret it. Far and away unlike anything common to Indiana. Indiana Dunes lakeshore is ok too I guess but nothing special, maybe just because I grew up around them. We have a nation full of far superior sandy beaches… without steel mills.

I commend your efforts as a father to be part of your daughter experiencing the nation. That's incredibly rare both as an accomplishment and as an aspiration. I hope you and yours get to see every state and what beauty isn't destroyed in this country by your deadline. Mine are 13, 12, and 8 (girl, girl, boy) and I'd love nothing more than to road trip the country if they'd stop fighting for 5 minutes lol. I think the 5th wheel is the right move for your needs, can't wait to see the whole rig when you got it together.

When you make it to Florida let me know, we'll meet up for coffee and I'll show you the fastest way out of this place. Hot muggy and everything wants to k!II you, @kryptto can back me up here, but he might know of some better spots. Where I'm at there are banjos, liberals, and morgan wallen fans. The springs are cool I guess

I will write that in my notes. We have a big road atlas with all 50 states, and I write notes like that directly on it.

Only way I travel, on paper. 18x24 Rand McNally road atlas, tells you everything you need to know. Anything you don’t, part of the adventure.
I navigated by road signs on the way up to TN, easiest trip ever. As soon as I resorted to the GPS to get home, confusing and full of horrible roads.

It is ambitious, but I like challenges. She officially has been to 14 states. We are planning to head back to Florida when she is 12. I want to see the Keys ect.... I will take you up on the coffee meet up.
