I realize standard Taurus headlights don't have fishtanks, but will they fit or will they have a gap between the light and the grill? The tanks aren't important to me at all, and Taurus headlights are $30 vs $120 for SHO lights.

No.

As an alternative to the $120 a side SHO-specific headlights, you can use the $30-$50 a side Mercury Sable headlights, and swap over your fishtanks. :thumb:

QFT. I got two sable headlights for $64 shipped. I sprayed the headlights with a UV protectant clearcoat, swapped the fishtanks over, and it looks fantastic! And they won't yellow within a year.

He means that if you purchase regular taurus headlights and put bulbs in them, then yes, they will shine and conduct light in an approximation of a good light pattern. They will not, however, come even slightly close to bolting up to the SHO.

You can always fit a round peg, into a square hole . . . .

Whether it "fits" also fails to take into account whether the lights will even mount properly against the header panel. So, . . .

Work? Yes. Fit? Yes. Fit properly? No. Look like shit? Yes.

i do believe that sable headlight and SHO headlights are the same, only sables don't have fishtanks. the problem with the SLO headlights on a SHO is the headlight mounting panel. they're not the same. plus the corners do not line up, not even close they stick out like a half inch further than the headlight. it is a sad and ugly problem i have with my SHO. PO put it in a ditch and did a hack job with the front end. i have a SLO nose and SHO everything else.
