my sho has been down for about a month sitting :-(, I thought it was just a pulley and belt issue .....fixed those but no, turns over but still will not start...I appear to have fuel, spark and air.... I need a SHO expert to diagnose... any and all ideas appreciated. (I tried reading the codes using KOEO and got dizz, could not do it) can anyone recomend a good OBD 1 code reader that is digital and direct me where to order it online?? seems advance auto only has those crappy led one's that do the same flash thing as the KOEO test... Thanks,

You say it has fuel, spark, and air...then it should start...unless the timing is way off. Something is missing. Go back to basics. Start with spark. Borrow an inductive timing light. Put it on wire # 1 and point it at the crankshaft pulley. Crank it over and see if it flashes when the white dot on the edge of the crank pulley is near the zero mark on the timing reference. That will tell you if you have a spark, and at the right time. Clamp the light on each of the other plug wires and verify you get a flash when cranking. Do you hear the fuel pump run for 1-2 seconds after you turn the key to on? Check for a strong spurt of fuel at the schrader valve on the fuel rail when the ignition is on. Make sure all ground wires are in place, the little wire from the negative battery terminal to the body. The strap on the back of the intake to body. Take the upper timing cover off. Turn the crank until the white dot aligns with the zero timing mark. Verify the dots on each timing pulley align with the reference marks on the backing plate. If they don't, turn the crank around one more revolution and recheck. If they still don't, there is a valve timing problem.

I'm here now with Erik. We've got 3 codes:

116 - ECT sensor out of range (unrelated)

636 - TOT out of range (unrelated)

511 - PCM no power to PCM pin one or bad PCM

We removed the LPM he had and still no start. I'm thinking he's got a fried PCM. Any thoughts?

Is this an X2J Car? If it is can you source another X2J?

That was my initial thought also. Too bad all my spare parts are 3.0 specific or I would have swapped the PCM right there.

I appreciate that James. I hear there's a 95 ATX at a local JY I may try to snag that one first. I'll keep you posted. :thumb:

I was thinking a wire might be broken somewhere. It is possible that when the serpentine belt snapped it broke something.

I have just got my hands on a replacement D4U1.
I want to try and swap it in place of mine which may be fried...heard that this is a little bit of a pain, looked for posts which adress a how to step by step and found none...can anyone offer any advice on how to & which tools are needed, want to get my sho back on the road, thanks! :)
