I have a 93 mtx with the jbl package my system has been hacked into by the previos owners, theres missing wires, loose splices, extra wires floating around i really dont feel like messing with it, I used to have a 88 Monte carlo with pioneer 6x9's and 5 1/2 or 5 1/4's in the doors i remember those 4 speakers sounding great, and i still have them so iama throw the 5.5s in the door , the 6x9s in the back and wire it up directly to the h/u (alpine about a year old) also i remember there being a wire behind the radio that says sub so i was thinking about connecting the stock sub up also, any predictions as to wat this gonna sound like being that iam not using any amps ? I just want it to sound ok the jbl system was nothing more than four speakers and a small sub, which i can do without considering that the 6x9 give pretty good bass

It's hard to say. Just because your stuff is name brands doesn't mean it's going to sound good. It will probably sound better, just about anything sounds better than a 15 year old stock audio system.

If you want good bass, I would suggest going with something aftermarket. Like this. You can easily modify your sub box to fit an 8" woofer and the box volume is just about the perfect size.

If everything is hacked up already why not just rip it all out. You already have all the components to make it sound good escept a good 4 channel amp. You can buy them fairly cheap. Then just buy an amp install kit and put in the time to run ALL new wiring. The end result is soooooo much better than anything stock.

plus with that apline head unit im sure it has a subwoofer output so in the future if the bass doesnt meet your demands it is very easy to upgrade, i would even go as far to say that while you have the interior torn apart go ahead and run an extra set of rca's just in case.
