I have a 93 SHO that I've been trying to repair for about three years. The trouble started with an intermittant check engine light that progressed to a problem of starting fine when cold but not restarting after warming up. I've replaced the fuel pump & filter, coil pack, control module p/n F1D1-12B577-AA, and the last item changed was the camshaft sensor. The camshaft sensor cleared the check engine light. Does the crankshaft sensor cause this problem and if so, how dificult is it to replace? My wife is threatening to have the car towed away an I'm losing the argument on keeping it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Rusty

rusty.. i'd bet my right nut its the crankshaft position sensor. its a known sho problem. search for it in the forums.. you'll find literally THOUSANDS of threads dedicated to it.

its a difficult job, not impossible job.. there are step by step directions available in the forums.

CPS is behind the water pump.. water pump probably has a leak.. (change it and timing belt when you do the job) and as the motor runs, the water leaks onto the cps and it stops working.

This is a story told over and over on the boards.

eh, its not difficult, more time consuming, don't be intimidated by it, just sit down, say ok this is goign to take a few hours and I will be done. Just make sure you don't strip the cps screws, or you will have a bad day.
