Doug was interested in seeing how an AX4N would handle low end torque issues and walked me through how he rebuilds/upgrades transmissions if I agreed not to disclose any information on how he does what he does. I've honored our agreements.

I've already got 1 year and 10,000 miles on a car that may not be a dyno queen, but IS a torque monster. Punch the throttle at 20 mph and the tires just shred. This tranny, that I built absolutely at Doug's instruction, has held up exceptionally well. My stock tranny died in less than 200 miles with my M90 supercharger pushing the low end.
The things I did to this tranny would have NEVER occurred to me without Doug's prompting and upon review, I believe these mods are why this tranny has held together.

Anything built by a man has a chance for failure, as an Engineer I would never dispute that. But Doug's tranny is as good or better than any I've crossed paths with.

is that the 191 hp car?

My FPS tranny lasted about 6 months. Definitely not worth the money I spent on it.

Hey,
I don't know of anyone or any V-8 SHO that has been turboed. Back when I agreed to do the mod, a blower was all I was interested in. Not a turbo. Now, it sounds like a good idea and all, but cost effective may not be the answer for a car as old as the SHOs. But, the V-6s are being done almost everyday. So, until someone turbos a V-8, we shall see. When I go turbo on a car one day, it'll be in a Beemer. Not an SHO.

SHO U UP, What power levels are you planning on making?? 400+

Why not turbo your car??

and i garentee that it was have more then some 191hp supercharged gen3's bc it already makes 197 with 210 tq

I would think Eric's would have more than 191 at the wheels though. Just doesn't seem right to me. I am hoping mine hits 350+ at the wheels but am not too worried if it doesn't. Doug wants it to be streetable and reliable at the same time. And I don't rag my vehicles out. I already have a drag vehicle so the SHO will only see nice weather anyway. I'll be sure to post the specs once I know them. Good luck with your build and be sure to supply us with some pics to drool over. :naughty:

That's cool! I've been wanting to see a turbo slapped on a V-8 SHO. Be sure to get pics and post them when you can. I supposed I could have the V-8 SHO I have now here with me turboed, but I have much BIGGER plans for another Ford toy of mine in January. Pretty much once my other SHO is force fed air by a "REAL" SHO guy too, that'll be it for modding the SHOs for me. Good luck with your build bro. :munch: We'll be waiting to see your SHOw.
