clutch, injectors, fuel pump, FPU, Extra transmission with the spider gears welded together to give you posi(track only)

Where will this SHOdown take place? Milan? Lapeer? Ugly ubly?

I think if her trans holds together, yer gonna get smoked.

It's too bad that you are using a "nice" car as a track whore. Rusty cars are lighter :thumb:

I do not believe a '93 AXOD-E will survive 9 psi of boost w/o modification ($$$). In the long run, the 92 will be the victor.

How much power will the atx handle? How much can it handle if 'built'? (and what needs to be done to beef it up?)

ask Somedude01 (I think) about how much power the ATX can handle..he's got a turbo'd ATX that's pretty flippin quick.

All things considered, if hers holds up, I think you're gonna get smoked. However, if it was me, and I had a $3k budget for a build, here's where I'd go...

3.2 block - $100 at a junkyard
+40 cams - $700 through SHONut (www.shonutperformance.com)
reinforced Diff since a quaife ain't cheap - free
ported runners -$150 (www.shosource.com)
big bore butterflies - $190 (www.shosource.com)
twEECer - $450 (www.shosource.com)
Spec stage III Clutch - $479.99
Ceramic TOB - $110

For a grand total of 2179.99 without shipping, leaving you with around $700 for drag radials.

Now, for her, since it's only you or the old man turning wrenches, I'd contact Doug Lewis at Ford Performance Specialists (www.fordspecialists.com) and find out what'd need to be done to the tranny to make it last with 9psi. I'd also talk with Somedude01 and find out what he did to his to make it survive. then, after sourcing a blower (since I'm assuming ya'll'll be fabricating the charge piping), I'd put all my focus on the transmission.

Torque convertor - $430 (www.shosource.com)
slap any big ass cooler you can find on there
Trans-Go shift kit (can't find a price anywhere, but I think they're only like $100 through any major parts store)

So where abouts in Michigan are you guys? I wouldn't mind witnessing this lil spat....and if you're lucky, you're wife'll be coming out on top....:naughty:

Oh, and since you will need the tweecer for both cars, call it a "tool" and don't pull it from the budget.

best thing to do with those "performance" chips are to find someone who's a complete ***** and sell em to him. Unless they're a custom burn (like mine), they're going to be pretty well useless. Especially once she starts boostin and you start spraying....that could be a recipe for disaster.

Like Tom (93revs2sev) said...just invest in a pair of twEECers...one for each car, since they're VIN locked....and consider it a tool, since neither car's really gonna reach anywhere near it's full potential without it. Not to mention the safety aspect of it. Either one of those engines goes lean, and you get to spend some time walking the trail of broken parts you left on the street behind you, sweeping stuff out of the way of traffic, and that's a good way to get run over. :thumb:

Those chips are useless, and the 80mm MAF that came with your 92 will require a tweecer to use. If the PO told you the chip was programmed for the MAF you've got he lied to you or he lied to me. For as much as he had done to his car he really didn't know squat about the SHO. I was going to buy that particular SHO and strip the parts off of it. :)

Do yourself a favor and ditch the chips and get a pair of tweecers.

I'd reverse the plans then. Supercharge the MTX and nitrous the ATX.

Edit...there's a SS Supercharger kit (brand spanking new) in the classifieds...
