Ashley & Paul,

Have you ever considered expanding the market of NC SHO repair to Gen 3 vehicles? I know someone who might be interested in a turbo or supercharger set-up on a red 97.

I have been privileged to drive two boosted GIII's. Both are pretty quick. However, neither is running a stock AX4N. That tranny in stock mode wouldn't be happy with the increase in TQ. Serious bux have to be spent to bullet proof the tranny when adding boost.

It's a lot of work, but man is the end result a blast to drive.

I've ridden in Eric L's roots supercharged Gen III. It was pretty alright. :thumb:

Not bashing the work but isn't putting a roots blower on the SHO kind of taking away from the "SHO" of it? After all, without our special intake manifolds we would just be another dime a dozen 3.0L V6, or in the Gen III's case, small displacement V8.

I think that's very subjective and personal. In today's world there's really nothing too special about my 3.2, +20 camm'ed SHO engine other than it makes more noise than a Camry motor. However, the new Camrys make similar power with similar displacement.

By the way, how many dime a dozen small displacement DOHC V8's are out there? :)

You got me on that one, and yes, it is up to personal opinion. While our motors are not all that special in the field of hp/cubic inch by today's standards, the fact that a 20 year old design is no longer obsolete is nothing to scoff at. Just look at how much Chevy had changed their small block in the same amount of time. They went from the 305 throttle body motors to the LT-1, approaching the III Generation LS motors while the SHO had not been improved upon. I realise that I am comparing uncomparables here as Ford did the same thing with it's small block, going from the 302/5.0L Windsor pushrod to the Cammer, Modular motors. Still, even today, 1.2 Horsepower/cubic inch is considered good engineering. Back in "the day", 1 horsepower per cubic inch seemed to be the number to attain.
Sorry, I digress.

I understand what you're trying to say, but since I'm a gen III owner, I don't have secondaries anyway. I'll take the roots blower over a fancy schmancy intake any day. :)
