alright, here are the dyno #'s they are 347.6HP and 360TQ. The A/F is a little rich at times, but the dyno operator recommended that i not lean it out for more HP, since he had to drive it back to PA. it does have a good tune on it however, and it is safe until we get the forged pistons, which are the next step.

Solid is TQ, Dotted is HP
Johndyno

with the A/F ratio (top lines are boost, dotted are A/F)
Johnairfuel

there you go, i am pretty happy with the results, especially in the time we had to do it. I think it turned out well. I can't wait until i get to put a "perfect" tune on it and get the A/f just like the green one was, that was a very consistent A/F and I was ecstatic about that tune! So john, be careful, be safe, and don't break anything so we can put the low compression pistons in and turn that boost up. Oh yeah..and NO 165 MPH runs like you were talking about...our cars don't even go to 165. :) I think that will be my next project as well, installing the Quaife and saving up for the the low comp. pistons to put in my car as well. 500hp here i come...eventually!!!!

ashley

Edit: please don't ask me why we ran it only to 6500rpms or so, that was all up to john and what he felt would be safe for his car. :) thanks!

John said that these numbers were already corrected for drivetrain loss. I would assume that he used 15%...

Ian

The dyno will correct for atmospheric conditions, which is what I assume John was meaning. Those numbers are a bit low to represent crank HP.

Sweet build guys and very FAST!!!!
So the sho can be boosted with stock internals? Basically stock pistons and stock compression?

it can be done as long as you are safe about the fuel mods and keep the boost below 15lbs. we did 10 on his to keep it safe.

ashley

A number of SHO's have seen 18+psi on stock internals, some of those cars did not even benefit from charge cooling, but sooner or later, you will start losing pistons at those levels. He should be able to run 10psi on his stock setup for a long, long time (assuming he can keep himself happy with 10psi. Boost is addictive, you always want MORE!)

What's the turbo off of? T444E? I work on Internationals all day long.
Do ya'll modify the wastegate? If you do or don't, what's the boost at in both situations. I'd like to get my hands on a VT35's turbo...

Great job so far!!!!

Bump for the wastegate question....

No we did not mod the wastegate. Just turned it down as it is adjustable. I didn't care to run the 40psi that this turbo will support, on stock pistons lol.

Good to know. Ive been pondering the idea of turboing the atx. Ill be happy with a low boost setup 7-10 psi im only looking for around 300whp. At least if everything is setup right I should only have to replace the Trans every year instead of both the Trans and Engine.

That turbo should hold about 15psi more than that. So, all they did was adjusted the rod length?
