Front 60k and PS pump in the books.

First 60k I've done, not too tough, just drawn out, wspecially with parts.

The PS pump was a bitch, but after taking two out, putting it back in was easy.

Cranked it a few times with the DIS unplugged, just to get the oil moving a little, and it started right up.:woohoo:

It was running kinda rough, so I shut it down. Went in and had dinner, came back out to start it and nothing. SHIT. I didn't even want to F with it anymore.

Tried it when I got home from work today, and it started right up. Still running rough. I checked around and found that the SCRM vac hose was off.

It's running prett good now, I'm going to go test it out.

:salute:

:edit for Clay: ~$29 at Autozone, and it comes with the seals.

You can do it while you replace the rack.....:oogle:

I ordered the line, but only ended up using the seal on the pump side.

I can turn the wheel at a stop now:woohoo:

Well, my SHO must have the life of a fly, because the SOB shit out on me again.

I was taking my girlfriend out to diner for her birthday, to SHOgun:naughty:. Great stuff, but $$$$!!

anyhoo, I was going over a set of railroad tracks and all of a sudden I hear what sound to be a semi putting on the jakes, but no......IT'S COMING FROM UNDER MY CAR!!!! WTF?!?!?.
:booboo:

I had know idea what was up, but I still had all the power as before. It only took me a second to realize something came apart on the exhaust. Shit.

I hadn't had any issues with the exhaust at all, it's stock, and had now prior leaks. I didn't even go over the track more than 7-10mph, and they were pretty smooth.

The resturant was only about 3 blocks away, and when I looked underneath, the back end of the resonator was hanging down. SWEET!!!! :ohreally:

It looks like it had rusted through, and broken right were the back of the resonator goes to the straight section of pipe.

I'll get a pic tomarrow to better explain. Guess it goes back in the garage....again.

In light of this, what are your suggestion for resonators? I'm thinking I will just weld it up myself, since it's straight. I'm going to keep the front end where it meets the y-pipe, for simplicity reasons.

I could get a Dynomax from Advance Auto, but $75. I have a cable shifter, and plan to keep it. I also plan on getting Flowmater 40's eventually.

There isn't any clamping about this thing. This is how it broke:
resonator.jpg

the red line is where it broke.

Welding a new on in there won't be very tough, it getting what's left out of the connection with the rear half. I've got a welder, it's just a matter of getting a decent resonator and cutting and welding it in.

Damn thats where I hoped it wouldn't have broke.

Joe I'm too hungover to come out right now, and am going to go eat with my Aunt and Uncle, I believe, for my bday.

when you weld it back up get some stainless wire and do an X pattern right over the resonator...you will notice there are little eyelets one each side of the resonater on the underbody of the car...i did this to my dynomax when it rotted through at that same location and i never had to mess with it again

Damn. BTDT with the resonator, only it broke at the weld with the part behind it, and there was a cop right behind me! Fortunately, there was an autozone about 200 feet down the road... and I just happened to have a set of ramps, gloves, and a flashlight (about 10PM) in the trunk... lucky me, eh? So I got a reducer and some exhaust cement... well, it worked long enough to get it to a shop.

Drinking on your B-day?!?! WHAT?!?!?!?

I've just been outside painting, the power went out so I had no lights to work with in the garage anyway. It's obviously back on now, I think I'll go pull the hole exhaust off later. While I'm at it I think I'll put on some 40's:naughty:

I'm just going to take everthing off and get a big f-ing resonator and some piping tomarrow from an exhaust shop.
