The door and trunk seam rust has been addressed.
I removed the dried seam sealer and coated the rust areas with rust converter.
I will keep them unpainted and with no seam sealer.

I live right by you and I will give you what KBB says it is worth. KBB says, for a 89 SHO, fully loaded with 186K on her in good shape is worth 1100 dollars. I have cash, if you are willing to take this offer up let me know, otherwise, at the price you are asking, its going to be sitting for a while.

I'm using nutsert and stainless bolts to re-attach the skirting brackets.
The brackets were coated with rust converter as well.
I did wax the lower doors and rockers before re-installation.

Ok !
Not !
I know kkb values and needless to say, I'm not using that as a guidline.
The fact you offer so little and do not appreciate the condition of this car clearly states one thing...
This car is not for you.

Or was that meant to be funny ?

The drivers side rear door cladding strip was trashed.
After a little prepping for rust converter I opened up a large hole.

So I replaced it with a rust free one.
It is the only one I had in stock, I'll miss it.

And here is how she looks at the end of the day.
I still need to wax the cladding and skirting as well as the bumpers.

No I wasn't being smart at all, just thowing an offer out there. I paid 3500 for my 95 MTX SHO with 120K on her. Thats why I thought that was a average price for a 89 with that many miles.

Some of the skirting retainers were missing.
So I used new ones on the visible surfaces.

I used the original ones on the underside.

Some one dedicated to these does not always go about buying one by *KBB*. This will go to some one who loves these car's as much as family and wants to keep it. If you cant see paying more for a near rust free, First Gen (Let alone an 89 First year made) Then this car is not for you. Let it go to some one who will care for it :thankyou:

I love this car, I wish it was in my yard (Along with his S/c Cougar):thumb:

Hey Joe.
It's been a busy week and I miss working on it.
I had a chance to strip a house before being demolished.
I got a bunch of stuff but best of all, I'm getting all the attic flooring.
It's 1" thick, 10" wide, 6' to 12' long, 150 year old tongue and groove planking.
I'll be getting back to the SHO soon.

Well, for your sake, I hope you get a buyer who will take care of it before I have the money, but if you still have it around september-october, I would be very very happy to come snatch up another PA sho....:)

I should be full time by then, and I'd love to have that beauty as a summer daily and modify the 95 further. Quick question, does the car have any mods at all, or is it basically bone stock, aside from the slicers ;)

Hi Andrew.
Thanks for the positives.
It is bone stock, except for the slicers.
It currently has no stereo.
And I need to decide on speakers.
Whether to add stock, aftermarket or none.
I feel it would be up to the next owner to decide.

Thanks for the compliment.
And thank you for the job offer.
However, I prefer to be self employed.
The price is set as noted.
The car (God willing) will be ready and will be shown at Carlisle Ford.

I'm famliiar with the problem.
The only solution I ever had was to find another.
I may find a company to replicate them.
But for now...

It's been a while.
I installed the headliner yesterday.
I'm also working on re-installing the trunk and interior.
I will post more pics in a day or two.
It may rain all day tomorrow.

For being an 89, this car really does stand out. You've done a really great job with it, Kevin.

If I were in the market for another headache I'd be all over this one. Hopefully, some smart entheusiast will spot the car and fall in love with it.
