The pads to use should have a "598" in the PN. Not sure about the Conti knuckles though.

The bracket can only be found on the 96-99 SHO and 01+ Taurus. Advanced Auto is wrong.

How is it an upgrade for 94/95 SHOs if the caliper is the same? Whats the size difference in the rotors? .4"?

The caliper is the same, but the rotors and pads are larger and the caliper brackets are different. The rotors are about .7" larger I believe. Its not as much of an upgrade for the 94/95 cars as it is for the earlier SHOs.

Didn't know you could put a larger pad in the same caliper. Makes a little more sense now. Lots of 04 GTOs upgrade to 05-06 for an inch or so of rotor, but the calipers are larger as well.

I don't think so . . . .

I've pulled FN74's from three Continentals (currently running the caliper brackets and rotors on my '95 MTX), and saw another set on a 1995 Continental Monday. The brackets are clearly stamped FN74 and the rotors measured 11-19/32".

I was just at the J-Yard today again, FN74 brackets were no where to be found unless im blind and couldent see the stamp. i want to use the 11.5" (or whatever it is) rotors so i will need these brackets and the calpiers off a 2001 am i correct??

See if that helps. My monitor at work is too dark and I can't tell, but those are my old FN74 brackets I sold to some SHO owner on the east coast 2 years ago.

Maybe I should have clarified my statement. It was aimed at the Taurus portion.

It listed 96+ Taurus as ALL having the same bracket. This isn't true.

It is 96-99 SHO and 01+ Taurus.

The Gen 3 SLO's all use the same brakes as the 94/95 SLO/SHO, 10.9"s. SHO's were the only Gen 3 to use the 11.6's, which required the FN74 bracket. Those SLO's might've had they're brakes upgraded by the previous owner.

Yeah, it read to me as if only the 96-99 SHO and 01- had the FN74s. My apologies

I'll get the ones for the 96-99 SHO, but I thought these two applications should have the same part numbers? They are the same price so that's not it, what could be the difference?

EBC Green Stuff brake pads-
Ford Taurus (01 and up)
3.0 #260774

Ford Taurus (96-99)
3.0 SHO, 3.2 SHO, 3.4 SHO #260775

I just finished replacing the pads and rotors on my '96 upgrade setup. I took pictures of the newly repainted calipers. The images clearly show the "FN74" stampings on the caliper brackets and the "LS" on the calipers.

The paint was Duplicolor silver that I used in order to match the wheels and eliminate the original aged brown finish of the calipers. I have regularly used the same paint on the rotor hats to keep the rust away on a new set of rotors.

okay! it was me that pulled the two sets of brackets that day at the junkyard. Just for the record, they were off of a 2002 Taurus and a 2003 Taurus.
