I wanted to let everyone know of my experiences with Kirk at NESHO.
I started my Gen III Manual transmission project about 2 years ago. After tying multiple venders asking for help with parts and getting no where, I contacted Kirk. I explained to him what I needed and he got to work. Many of days and nights we were talking on the phone over dial caliper measurements for critical parts. Now if you haven’t tried to explain to some one what you needed to make a one off custom part with out a drawn out plan its something else... But he was able to get the info down and the parts made. When they arrived worked and installed Perfectly!!!
When you are the first person to do anything it is very expensive, when people say "With time and money anything is possible" that rang true with this project. A bunch of time critical events took place that set in motion other parts of the project and Kirk was able to come through. He was able to deliver parts on one of his many treks across the country!
The project was also on a budget, and this was another thing Kirk was able to help out with, the parts were exceptional and the prices were very reasonable.
The car started up and drove for the first time on of all days September 11th 2006. The car could have been completed on that date but due to a nagging internal transmission problem (did not have 2nd and 4th gear) delayed 100% completion till about 1 week before this years convention! During that time Kirk and the gang at NESHO, researched the issue and we were able to figure out what was going on. The final completion date was 7/7/07!!! (lucky 7’s)
I don’t understand all these crazy dates but i'll tell you this much, I did not start or touch the car on 7/13 Friday the 13th lol!!
Anyway, thanks goes out to Kirk and NESHO for helping me create the 1st V8 Manual transmission SHO in the country!!!
