Ceramic coated the modified valve cover this am. New gaskets installed looking fresh off the assembly line IMG 4704
Man now this is better IMG 4705
The PCV VTA -10 hose was now too long. I put it back on the catch tank and marked where I should cut it. IMG 4711
Reused a -10 straight fitting off another hose. IMG 4712
Rearranged the rats nest of wires better. All the harnesses unplugged are neatly tucked out of sight. Illusion purple powder coat was spot on. Looks much cleaner with no PCV canister tooIMG 4716IMG 4721IMG 4720
Not bad

Front cover offIMG 4725IMG 4726IMG 4727IMG 4729IMG 4730
Swapped the gaskets and polished it back to a proper shine IMG 4731IMG 4732IMG 4734IMG 4735
This is that 1/8 NPT extension I mentioned for the trans temp probe. All I need to do now is unbolt the trans cooler outlet hose, add this to the cooler and attach my hose to it. IMG 4736

I’ve got a few things to do that I’m already working on and it’s pretty much done. Did I say that? Gauge sensors for oil, ethanol and trans temp installed. Wiring left. Evil Energy sent me free products to convert the HPFP feed to -8AN instead of -6. For anyone wondering the pump fitting is M12x1.25 and XDI said to reuse their seal bc it’s specially made for the pump. So for instance the -8AN to M12x1.25 comes with a seal and don’t use it, reuse XDI’s.

I have about 40 yards or so of dirt road before pavement and going super super slow I still pile tons of rocks on my chassis splitter and turbos. Already showing some imperfections in the vinyl wrap on the splitter bc of that. I bought new OEM front fender liners and some mesh from Customcargrillz. I can’t have plastic against the exhaust and wanted airflow to the fender louvers, the mesh will be perfect. IMG 4805IMG 4808
The mock up. This is actually going to work. Notched a hole out for the quick release cf rod. Tape on the exhaust so I didn’t scratch it. The mesh cuts easy with tin snips and I temp fastened it and then pushed hard against the exhaust to bend it. Some thin aluminum sheet made into a 90 to tight it in. This already stiffened the chassis splitter up. The top portion of my bumper is cut off with the flares but I have the second highest hole available so it’ll tie back into the bumper as well. This will tighten the whole front end up. I’ll wrap the aluminum in same wrap as the splitter. Should keep 90% of road debris out now. And still airflow to the louver.

Brad is back online with tuning this. I waited until now to get the ball rolling. Right now my Works Bell paddle shifters are down temp until I re-wire them again. So the car with the freshly built trans wants to cruise in 5th going 45mph. Nah, so I asked Brad if he can tune the trans to stay in gear to at least 3500rpm before upshifting in D and he said he didn’t see why not. Don’t care about MPG here…want to be in a favorable gear at all times and when I get my paddles functional I can always manually upshift if I want later. The turbos sound incredible. Very nice to hear cruising down the road. Can’t wait to be able to drive it anywhere I want.

Brad sold me a used X4 and special harness for the Raptor ECU. Brads never tuned a Raptor before so he is all about it. Should pick up another 100hp easy. Don’t know if I mentioned it but this Raptor has port injection and direct injection. External water pump. All the improvements. Went to buy oil and filter for it and was like…oh yeah duh…same as the SHO. Same filter and 6 quarts. IMG 9059

this drives me nuts with the stock shift points on this car. she is coming along and that mesh is awesome. so you got a wider pipe for fuel too based on the connection change?

Yeah -10 to the regular and although 3/8 quick disconnect it goes to -8 directly to the pump. Not a huge improvement but since I wanted to redo this line might as well step it up to -8 from -6 which is 3/8.

yeah why not right? I wish I had you near by, have to work on my ethanol sensor project and need that solid skillset in case I need to create custom dependable AN line creation. not something I have the tools for or trust myself since I have never done it.

Super clean! Looks sharp AF.

I have new liners for my fronts to, but I don't anticipate modifying with mesh like you have.

Again, sharp! You ABSOLUTELY deserve every single award, accolade, media coverage etc. that comes your way!

applause

How are we coming on tuning?
Still 93 WG spring tune not commanding any boost. Just getting it more suited to drive anywhere with the modified liners. I was thinking avoid rain with no liners but turns out ….everything gets covered with rocks and debris. Had to take a step back to do something about it.

I’ve got a small section of exhaust wrap that absorbed a bunch of oil from the catch tank and turbo oil return failed setup and it’s still smoking a little. Plus it stinks and I’ve all but narrowed it down to that section of exhaust wrap. Smells like burnt oil, if I touch it my gloves are oily. Instead of removing the pipe I’m going to cut out the oily section and use more stainless zip ties to add back a fresh section to get that shit out of there. Redo the whole pipe some other time. I want to drive it. But not with a smoky burnt oil smelly wrap.

I’ve said this before maybe once but it’s true. If I was single it would be done already ..but also I’ve got a lot of drywall work and last weekend worked all weekend to get a bathroom done and same thing this weekend another bathroom. I can bust bathrooms out pretty quick. I would love to work on my car all day but when I’ve got ppl trying to give me their money I can’t help but let the car wait.
