Yep, it has been a couple of years. A couple more weeks isn't anything.

Exactly. I do get agitated occasionally bc I really do want to just get it done. Might need to call in the big guns @Jordan_R to get me to the finish line. Ghost Energy and wrench all day…except this is super light work at this point. Done in 1 day

Looks like a great event.

Never heard of it previously.

Should be a great time. For you, as well as all the fellow participants.

Be sure to post lots of pics and an occasional video if possible. Enjoy Andrew!

It’s a big European car show but they do allow some domestics into Alpha class, an indoor area where all the nicest vehicles are and I applied June 5th and got accepted this morning.

Damn man that’s a small group accepted in that show, congrats! I’m not a big euro fan but I do love cars and that looks like a cool show. Can’t wait to hear how it goes. Good luck!

Racing it for sure. Brad sent me a new tune revision for the transmission to keep it in gear with the new shift point for casual driving at 3500rpm. Can’t wait to try that out. Makes me think of a motorcycle …always in a prime rev range. And I’ve got some data logging of the stock Raptor file for Brad to wake the Raptor up. 2 badass 3.5 Ecoboost engines to tune. Aside from the Ford GT the Raptor has one of the best Ecoboost engines there is.

Bwahahaha ...... oh no you didn't.

Poking the bear. This made me laugh.

But glad Andrew chimed in right away.

Andrew's gonna get the "zoomie's".

Got some good rollers of the car and did a data log. The car isn’t leaking anything which is a big step in the right direction. I ended up degreasing the section of exhaust wrap that was soaked in oil best I could. That was smoking but clearly from that 1’ section so it wasn’t a concern.

Oil pressure is 80 psi cold started and once all the way warmed up settles around 30psi idling. Any little throttle and it’s back up to 80. Need to remember to look at it close to WOT next time. I’m not touching the oil regulator and restrictors on the turbo oil feed. That’s great pressure the turbos only need 40.

Hit a few pounds of boost more than a few times. Spent about 30 min driving two separate trips for rollers. Sent Brad a data log. The 3500rpm tune seemed like a lot for 1st gear but I got used to it. I actually love it bc the car stays in a mid rpm range not falling to 1k in 4 or 5 at 40 mph. Makes me think for an engine break-in that should be more like it. Keep it moderately revved up, more like an engine dyno break-in. I’d have to assume 300 miles at 3,000 rpm cruising is way better than 500 miles at 1k rpm cruising. If the point is to get it worn in, 3k rpm sounds more like it.

Here’s a screen shot from a roller IMG 4998

I changed the -6AN HPFP feed to -8AN. IMG 4996Other than that I’ve done nothing after driving it. Guess all I need to do now is drive it some more!!!

SOO, I was chatting with @802SHO while he was sheet rocking and asked him if he wanted to see what AI would say about the performance of his Monster Build, after seeing how eerily accurate it seemed to be for mine.

I assumed my numbers were derived by the public forums access search engines, like google have to sites like this and others the AI engine would feed me back known info, BUT we all know there is no other car like Andrews custom build, so lets feed it a list all of his mods to the cyclone engine platform, then he told me the fuel he planned on using, fed that in and here is the results:

Drum roll please:

Here's a breakdown of what that means for the estimated performance:

E85 + 100% Methanol Injection: The Ultimate Combo

  • Exceptional Knock Resistance: E85 offers a high effective octane (around 105-110+ RON, depending on the base gasoline blend), and 100% methanol injection adds another layer of knock suppression. Methanol has an even higher octane equivalency and a massive latent heat of vaporization, meaning it cools the intake charge and combustion chamber incredibly effectively. This allows for extremely aggressive timing and boost pressures without fear of detonation.
  • Superior Charge Cooling: Both E85 and methanol provide significant charge cooling, leading to a denser air/fuel mixture and even more power. The direct injection of methanol into each cylinder is particularly effective for precise cooling and fueling.
  • Additional Fueling Capacity: Methanol also acts as a secondary fuel source, supplementing the E85. This is critical for reaching very high power levels when the primary fuel system (even with upgraded HPFP and injectors) might start to approach its limits. The XDI 60HPFP and 2000cc injectors are already top-tier, but the meth adds extra headroom.
Estimated Performance with E85 and 100% Methanol:

Given the entire build, especially the Garrett G25-550 turbos which are generally rated for up to 550hp each (meaning 1100hp potential in a twin-turbo setup if optimized for the engine displacement), and the robust supporting mods:

  • Horsepower (HP) and Torque (TQ):This is where the car truly enters the elite performance category. With expert tuning, your friend's SHO should be capable of:
    • 800-950+ Wheel Horsepower (WHP)
    • 800-950+ lb-ft of Wheel Torque (WTQ)
The upper end of that range (900-950+ WHP) is highly plausible with the G25-550s being pushed efficiently on a 3.5L with this fueling and a perfect tune. The "1000hp" intercooler and massive fuel system are designed for exactly this kind of output. This level of power is truly insane for a Taurus SHO.
  • Engine Durability: The fully built closed-deck engine with Manley extreme-duty internals, WPC treatment, ARP studs, and boundary billet oil pump gears is absolutely necessary and perfectly suited for this power level. It's built to withstand the immense forces generated.
  • Drivetrain Performance:
    • Transmission (6F55): The extensively rebuilt 6F55 with prototype clutches, welded planetary pins, and a GearHead torque converter is being pushed to its absolute limits, but it's the right way to do it. The builder's expertise here is paramount. This transmission is engineered to handle massive torque, and it will be tested.
    • AWD & LSDs: The Traction Concepts LSDs in the front and rear, combined with the billet PTU brace, are critical for getting this immense power to the pavement without just turning the tires into smoke. The AWD system will provide incredible launch traction.
  • Acceleration Times:This is where the numbers become truly mind-boggling for a full-size sedan.
    • 0-60 MPH: Expect low 2-second range (2.5-2.9 seconds). A perfect launch on sticky asphalt with all-wheel drive, LSDs, and that much power could even dip into the very low 2s, challenging hypercars.
    • Quarter Mile (1/4 Mile ET): This car should be capable of low 9-second to high 8-second elapsed times (e.g., 9.0-9.5 seconds) with trap speeds well over 145-155+ MPH. To hit the 8s, everything has to be optimized – tire choice, track prep, driver skill, and a flawless tune.
  • Braking and Handling:
    • Brakes: The Rotora 6-piston front/4-piston rear calipers with 380mm rotors are absolutely essential. This kind of power demands equally potent stopping power.
    • Suspension: The Airlift suspension, Whiteline sway bars, and upgraded components will manage the car's dynamics under extreme acceleration, braking, and cornering, though at these power levels, straight-line performance becomes the primary focus.
Conclusion:

This isn't just a "custom car build"; it's a top-tier, purpose-built drag/street monster. The combination of a fully built engine, upgraded turbos, a massive E85 and 100% methanol fuel system, and a robust drivetrain (especially the fortified 6F55 with LSDs) places this 2010 Ford Taurus SHO in an extremely exclusive club of high-performance vehicles.

Your friend has invested in a build that, with a skilled tuner and driver, will likely humble a vast majority of "supercars" in a straight line. It's an incredible feat of engineering and fabrication.

BY the way ALL credit goes to Googles Gemini AI.
