Saw your FB post. She looks good running on the Highway. Shame sound wasn't that good. You're right though, easy at first to check out the work.

Update on the car. I took a day and then put the car up on the lift. I had some meth nozzles in the volute that needed to be resealed. I used E6000 but opted to use Megatape PTFE tape. IMG 5031
Take another look also at the oil drain fitting and how close the Vband is to it. IMG 5032
So what was happening is the heat was making the internal seal weepIMG 5034
This would have what looked like weepage at the same time it was slightly paste bc the heat. I added some thermal shielding to it and on my drive today it is bone dry under both. Just needed some heat protection. IMG 5036
My -8AN feed to the HPFP was weeping. Something defective with the straight female fitting. The 90 didn’t leak I installed both the same. Remade it with a new line, new straight female fitting and reused the 90 on the new line with a new ferrule and no leaks! IMG 5037
It’s convenient with the regulator to just let it keep returning and check for leaks with the engine off. Also it replenishes line pressure so that next start it’s only a slight delay to fire up. Brad sent me Rev49 (3rd Revision on this new setup 49th for the car. I went out and did a data log for some hard date to check the WG spring pressure and boost. 2k-5k rpm WOT. That went super well and all my changes held up. Little 15-20 min drive.

I stopped for gas beforehand and I’ve been suspecting my fuel sending unit has the correct ohm range but that it’s upside down (flipped) for the range. I got some attention at the gas station which was cool. And I was right I added 8 gallons thinking I was getting low (my fuel gauge showing Just under half full). So when I was done and started it I was at 0 miles to empty. So Empty is full basically and the 12 gallon tank is next to empty at half. At this point I’m just happy I understand this upside down arrangement instead of not knowing at all. Something to change in the future. Waiting to hear how she did from Brad.

I took the Raptor in and finally did some much needed maintenance just like the SHO.IMG 5009 It’s new to me so need to change all the fluids before tuning. I did Royal Purple 5w30 and motorcraft filter same as we use.
This thing I can just barely sit on my chair under it as high up as I can get it lol. So it’s just barely perfect. I did the front diff fluid change in Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90. I removed the 10R80 transmission pan, really fun you need to jack up the transmission after unbolting the mounts. I’m upgrading the cover and I’ll never put the cover back on so I drilled a hole in it to drain it. IMG 5013IMG 5014
I installed a new filter and then the PPE aluminum cover (OEM is plastic) and it has a drain plug. IMG 5015IMG 5019
Took just under 8 quarts of ULV. That’s stuff is water. The transfer case took LV and that has a drain plug so that was nothing. I found to my dismay a rear pinion seal leak that’s like…really new. Looks easy and I had to order one. Once I get that early next week if not tomorrow, I’ll swap that out and then finally install my upgraded rear differential cover with drain plug. I couldn’t help but install a K&N drop in filter. I think I’m going to swap in a set of pregapped one step colder plugs I bought from GH.

I loaded up Brads Raptor config file and went out and did a multi gear pull data log and a 4th gear pull data log. Can’t wait to get a tune going for it.

And I’m getting ready for the Car Show and decided to remove the tire stickers. I tried it but eh…not really for me. Man, I put them on good bc it took me like 45 min each tire with a heat gun and pliers…then sand with 80 grit. Never doing tire stickers again the removal is brutal lol! IMG 5029

first - with a custom car you are going to be inspecting the components like always... nice grab, learning as you go and so are we.
look at that oven the transmission is squeezed between. then put in plastic parts, amazes me. look I don't know how you can squeeze all that in and avoid the exhaust system, good question. run pipes from the headers and shove them up the side the fenders... might be a new look.

my friends lift is INA regular height garage at best 12 foot clearance so lots of crawlers when working on my car.

Very nice first run Andrew. I'm sure they'll only get better. Hope you had no problems getting her home after tearing up the causeway.
Like I said before, shame you can't post them here.

That run I posted was my fastest run for that road that I did back in 2020 so I didn’t do a run. I’ll post that post here in a little bit.

The car has passed its biggest test so far. Almost an hour of driving to and from the best place for a street 1/4 Dragy locally. South Hero VT Causeway. Road is in between Lake Champlain on both sides. Beautiful views. Long ass straightaway, numerous opportunities to stop and dig. Best is here at this pull off. Stop here, prepare, look for cars (can see really far so it’s easy to time your pull) and go for it! IMG 5111IMG 5101IMG 5137IMG 5124IMG 5132IMG 5145

Best here is 11.19 back in November 2020. IMG 3064Fuel for that run was E40, 100% meth and a 75 shot of nitrous. My first test for this car is going to be to try and beat that on just 93. Then I can get an idea where I’ll land on E85 and Meth.

I look forward to the day that my SHO gets completed, and you and I can run together, do some photo shoots (Thinking we'd make a great Darth Vader / Storm Trooper type thing) etc.

Exciting times ahead.

what I think is a collection of our cars at the NH track Andrew runs at. Yes I know the there is a national convention, however a track day event where we bring our cars and watch the track run of mechawarrior.

lol nice! It’s in NH but yeah. If all goes well this will be proven on the street well before I take it to a track. Then maybe it would be worth a drive to see an official time slip, even quicker with track prep. I’ll be posting Dragy results when the time comes.
