Hopefully you guys can help, i have two issues.

First, the trunk button doesn't work. The button itself is good, but when I press the button on the bumper it won't work. The key fob as well as the button in the interior work. Any ideas?

When i was trying to fix this problem I unhooked the wiring connector that's on the rear drivers side right above the muffler and I couldn't get it connected back up. Turns out the little rubber seal in there ripped and I had to get a pick and it came out on a bunch of pieces. Do any of you know where a can get a new seal at?

Thank you!

The bumper button on my ‘14 never worked either. You do need to have the FOB on you for it to work though. Which, I always thought kinda defeats the purpose.

I had a 14 limited and it stopped working as well. It ended up being bad wires going to that connector that I was asking about in my original post, but ford must have changed the wiring between 2014 and 2019 because everything is different.

I did try moving the fob around in case there was a separate antenna, but I couldn't get it.

I did verify the button is good and obviously most of the wiring is good since it works with the fob as well as the trunk button in the interior.

I'm not sure about the 2019, and I may be getting vehicles confused here anyway, but I thought my 2011 SHO had a switch in the glovebox that would disable the passive trunk entry, or maybe it just disabled the remote trunk feature altogether, so that if you were valet parking your car you could toggle the switch, then lock the glovebox to keep items in the trunk secure from snooping valets.

I may be thinking of a different car, or even the way the switch functioned, but may also be worth looking into if you have your owner's manual.

I just looked at the owners manual and didn't see anything about a switch in the glove box.

I did see though that the fob needs to be within 3 feet of the trunk to work. It's it possible that there is a separate antenna the trunk and maybe that antenna isn't working?

Are there any online versions of wiring diagrams that people have uploaded?

Awesome thank you! I'm going to try and see if I'm able to buy just the seal itself. It seems like the seal would be in the female side, which thankfully is the cheaper one
Seriously doubt the seal is available separately. Best chance for that is a u-pull-it.

Whenever you fix it, put a thin coat of dielectric grease on the seal. Don't put it anywhere else.

Thank you guys for the help. I was able to source a connector, take it apart, take the seal out and do the same thing with the connector on the car.
