So I have another thread going on the engine swap I did on my 2010 SHO. Put a motor from a 2014 police interceptor into it. Everything pretty much went according to plan but I have been chasing a lean running condition on the car. It is not lean enough just yet that it has set a light for it, but watching the fuel trim data it is only a matter of time. I have checked many of the common culprits and have come up empty. I am down to 2 possibilities in my mind, either the valves are just carboned up enough that they are throwing off the the readings or the fuel injectors are clogging up. She runs strong and smooth without rough idle or misfire, just the trims causing me to look into this. That said, and the reason for the title, While researching I found that the 2010-2011's used a different fuel injector number then the 2012+. So that had me wondering if the 2014 fuel injectors on this motor are not playing nice with the 2010 computer program. So then I thought, what if I pulled the injectors off the old motor and put them on the new? But again, with the different part numbers is that even an option? Would the 2010 injectors even fit in the 2014 motor? So I open this conundrum up to you all. Anyone know if there are differences in the injectors that can cause the lean running? Are they interchangeable? If I wanted to replace them all the CM5248 (BA5Z-9F593-B) injectors for the 2014 would be cheaper by quite a bit. The 2010 part number is CM5199 (AA5Z-9F593-D).
