I have been having this problem with my car for some time now where when I start the car (either remote start or not, cold start or warm) the Lane Keep Assist icon on the dash is on, but soon after disappears off the dash and won't turn back on by the button. (With this off the auto high beams also do not work.) However, sometimes over the course of the day this feature will turn on and stay on for the whole drive. I am not sure what is going on or where to start.
Has anyone else had this problem and know what the fix is?
I am sure if it is some sort of module, it would need to be programmed by the dealer.

Actually for "programming" or turning certain settings on or off there is FORSCAN, and it if used with a properly function computer can program the cars different modules. Have you updated the software and which sync do you have?

I have a 2015 Lincoln MKS Ecoboost. It does have Sync 2 and it is at the latest revision. I also just checked and did a master reset on Sync and it did not fix the problem, however it showed the problem again.

After I reset Sync and turned my car off and on again. I am able to turn the Lane Departure system on and it shows it being on, on the dash. However after a few seconds the Lane Departure system icon will disappear and even if I press the lane departure button again, it won't turn back on.

Before you go believing me, sounds like the apim is bad, let's wait for others. That is the screen and computer that are one.

Agreed, use FORScan to check for codes. Free to use for code scanning but, requires a laptop and a $30+ cable. Full program is $12 year. Android and IOS versions do not have the full capability of the Windows version.

Maybe there are no codes. Without checking you are wandering around in the dark. If there are codes it will give you a place to start.

The Lane Departure does work sometimes, which seems odd to me on how that would be an APIM (screen and computer).
When I got the car about 5 years ago a new APIM was installed because I did not have any audio at all.
The windshield has not been replace to my knowledge.
