I drove one of those on one of the Dream Driving experiences. Holy crap that thing was comfortable and fun to drive. I agree with you, I wouldn't mind owning one.

When I was about to buy my SHO, I priced out other fast sedans—the BMW M4 came out to a whopping $150,000 with all the extras. I didn't even price out the super-Audis. I figured that if I'm going to pay $150K for a car, I at least want it to look like a $150K car . . . so that's why the Lotus.
But like the Ford GT, Shelbys, et.al., you probably can't actually buy the Lotus at MSRP. There's probably waiting lists and outrageous dealer mark-ups. So I guess I'm back to the humble Mustang GT . . . but with every option. The Dark Horse would ;ve ticked a lot of boxes: Exclusivity and rarity, enhanced performance add-ons, etc., all for about $80K—still a lot of money for a car, and within spitting-distance of an exotic; e.g., the single-motor Porsche Taycan or Lotus Emira.
my normal drivers are my SHO a gt350r, a Gallardo Spyder and others but if it’s stop light to stop light you want in a gas car you can’t beat a bmw M5 competition. I hate to say it but bone stock my buddies 2018 M5 makes my full tuned SHO look like a joke Along with all my other cars on the street at least.Strictly street. Understated power of a sleeper—0-30MPH is my jam.
How about the mother of modern Taurus SHO enthusiasts - the sleeper of all sleepers - chrome delete ahead of its time....

That's nice looking.I miss my ‘66 Galaxie. Not a 7 litre, just a 500 with a 390. I was the proud owner for 12 years. Was 90% to XL interior conversion when I sold it. I regretted selling it ever since. View attachment 87124
Take 50k, buy the car of my dreams, bank the rest.Lemme put the question this way: Someone gives you $150,000 tax-free. Do you keep the money or buy the car of your dreams?
2020 Mercedes Benz E63S

Just the bigger, badder, euro super sedan the SHO wishes it could be. Tune only they go into the mid tens......and are built to cruise at 150+.
