You just gotta remember that CF, if not prepped and ceramic coated properly, will break down in the rain and sun. Ask me how I know lol. My CF hood on my SN95 lasted about 5 years before I had to have it repaired and color match painted because the gel coat couldn't be fixed. But that's here in the Texas heat.

She's really looking good. Leaps and bounds ahead of us other part timers lol.

UV light will slowly destroy carbon fiber as it does with about anything thats in full contact with UV light. Just put a UV light cover on the car when its outside and it will be fine

Definitely don’t want an expensive part getting toasted in the sun. Thanks for letting me know your experiences with CF. I’ve never had real CF before so I appreciate it. It’s a garage queen so that will help. When I can take it out finally it’ll still not be a daily, but in a perfect world if I took it out 2-3 days a week in the summer for normal use, along with lots of detail products on it constantly, that should preserve it pretty well.

Aside from datalogs and going to the track, I’d drive it to the gym, maybe to some local car shows or car cruise. I don’t think I’ll ever be satisfied with it…..I won’t do anything all at once this drastic again, but I can see myself making some tweaks here or there adding or upgrading parts. If it all goes well I do expect to run through some transmissions, if that’s my main concern I’ll be content…perhaps learn how to swap it out a lot faster than the first time.

Opened up my Airlift management boxes, first glance is overwhelming, more parts than I envisioned. Sometimes to get a more comfortable overview is to lay the lines and wires out on the living room floor, and get the orientation worked out, connecting A to B to C to D to, etc. I’m sure there’s a picture in the instructions lol but before I look at those I like to see how I think they should go first. Lol. Sometimes the instructions make more sense after I gave it a whirl first.

I mounted the top portion of the aluminum seat delete. What I’m thinking is I can run my lines all to the back seat delete panel, drill holes and use grommets to show just a tiny portion of the lines and wiring, come out then directly into where it needs to go. I won’t care too much about what the inside of the trunk looks like. 221AD86C B658 47C3 9C24 C89D43368097FA06E676 8EE3 4015 9D75 479C1C1248039C9F5D07 E003 43E6 B2F0 48DBD7FDB27E

Damn Drew! Shes looking amazing so far! Hey was that air suspension a plug and play kit as far as the bags and struts?
It took some minor modifications. The meat of the front strut bolts can’t pass through one side of the front strut. The holes they machined are too small (just on one side). 1D0BBA0F A8F1 4296 A0EE 175F5D4A6B75I had to make that side larger0C6DF8A7 9EE5 4D3D 938C 480570424422 then I touched them up with touch up paint. F08DE9FB 9702 4B51 BFC4 4B9430F1E1EE
Also the top holes in the strut tower you’ll find two holes are smaller than the other two. I had to make those two smaller holes larger to get the strut in place. I believe it was these two I made larger B2096F7C FAC8 4DE5 9C9B 12FFA7407C56ED18B089 0857 4953 958D BADF2ED5F7E2

The front sway bar I want to say sits a lot taller than it used to, but it’s been a while. In the rear was interesting and I’m not sure I found the solution quite yet, I’ll just have to check and verify once I get it on the ground or maybe a few drives.

The rear struts come with 2 large thick washers and a new strut bolt. I used one large washer on the bottom of the strut perch, and up top I took apart and reused the OEM rubber/metal washer that goes on top of the strut inside the car. Then used their nut. 035CE0BB 73D7 4EA7 8D0F 40CD3DE5FEC93BE0862A 9F5E 4281 8E0E 70054C8D363CD5FD27BC A9AE 4610 8F88 544749139EAA

For the bags in the rear, I watched a mustang video and he took the top and bottom rubber isolators out and put the bag in and there are threads in the top and bottom of the bag, he had a hole in the bottom of his lower control arm and he threaded a bolt through the bottom to secure the bag…….my kit didn’t come with a bolt and there isn’t a hole in the bottom of the lower control arm. I took the rubber isolator out of the bottom and it doesn’t sit flat, the bottom of the control arm isn’t flat it’s in the shape of a spring just like the rubber was, and sitting on the rubber it isn’t flat…..so I took it DC74E6D0 0E12 4513 AB9A 94304D1A76CC and cut most of it off so that it filled in the area that wasn’t flat D54C64F0 A62A 43E8 BD25 F2D04AC38F25 I then tried to put the bag in without the top isolator and it can’t clear fully seat, so the top isolator actually is flat and I left it in place. So it’s the modified bottom rubber isolator and the top one left alone and it sits the best I could get it. I did go back and add a sliver of 1/8 abs to both lower control arms to stop any wiggle movement. I tried looking for something that I could buy that would sit in the lower control arm and fill in the spring indentation and off a flat top surface and I came up empty handed. For now it seems like it’s in a good spot. F0888315 DFFF 4A4E 9D57 F7E0D3121346

I can’t wait! I just expanded my kit to include 1/4 stainless steel leader lines. I didn’t realize I am 15 min from Bag Riders. Lol! Hoping to join your bagged EcoBoost Flex soon!

Installing air suspension has been really cool so far, and expensive. I decided to upgrade most of the hardware (Lines, fittings) and so far I’d say I’m about $700 more into this, brining it up to $4k. One of the few things I did was get some 3/8 bulkhead fittings. 7A959FC1 F985 4B90 9F86 C5A9A69DCD31
Which allow me to break up the lines into 3 sections. So lines running off the bags terminate to the trunk bulkhead. Then it’ll bc just connecting lines to the back of the seat delete bulkhead. And I’m using hard lines on the other side. I’ll share the complete install and what I bought when it’s completed. But just take a look at how it’s coming along. 4138A9E3 45CB 483E 84CB 082D46665572D345B5CB 669E 40E4 87F6 94D277C117FC573FB0D5 9C1D 471E BF7C C14AEA7091167B756FBD 14D2 4540 81CB 992CFB067D49

Will lead to a much cleaner install, well worth the cost. Looks great man.

All 4 corners (Struts/bags/lines installed and connected to trunk bulkhead 3/8” air line fittings.

Rear lines. The braided stainless steel leader lines attach directly to a different 3/8 bulkhead.E5400754 5079 42F6 8C51 90F5A2BB9DAD3C138850 870D 40E2 98B6 231658910DC0904191AA 87F4 4AA7 BE9D 234D527BF3CB

The rear seat delete panel is 90% complete. I put it in the car to see what it looks like. I think I may cover the raw aluminum panel, I’m thinking a Matte Dark Gray vinyl. Stickers I bought are black. Just mocked them up. 347D8922 9CD1 4A40 9B10 F17EB2E2D2B84230F024 D96B 465E BDBE 0A81335E6E169D1AE9C5 9A50 491A B58E 0F1CFDFD69A54A313960 00A2 41F1 8841 9F523563DB69636A0EDD F219 4947 A129 4E100F3629DD

I added flow valves. They are for the rear air bags only. The rear bags have the shortest air lines and the rear has the least amount of weight, so it’ll always air out with the rear dropping first. The flow valves control the air flow, so I can air out level with both front and rear the same speed. D4D227FB 352D 4D59 97DA EFC895F1B25ED997BFF6 0E97 4890 B3C0 7180730F9096FA0DA732 3E64 4EAC B33B 60830437DC92

The exhaust of the manifold will run out of the car, so the air out sound will be as loud as possible. The back of the panel….it made a smiley face haha! Now it’s connect the dots. 801C3143 8403 46B6 92E5 9BDAE37567F5AC35380F 8856 4341 B5B7 E1F1DB72FC8AC552D46B 23C9 4A2B 9AD8 F36CC5F30B30

And I had help with this. My 21 year old cousin from NH, he’s going to school here in VT to be an electrical engineer. I’m paying him 30/hr. He’s very capable, I can show him how I want something and he does it. He bent all the hard lines and helped come up with the round flare out design of the lines. I don’t have much time to work on it bc I’m always working, so to be at work and have him working on it….priceless.

Looks great man. Those bulkhead fittings really clean it up a lot, both going through the RSD as well as into the spare tire well.

The real question is gonna be though, can it bounce?
