As the title says I've just gotten home from a nice long road trip, and I have to say that the car did very well. I left shortly before Christmas to drive from MD down to FL to spend the holidays with family. After the New Year I then started West for San Diego (hadn't seen that city during my time as a truck driver, and everyone always says it's very nice) and then up to LA to help a friend move stuff from the West Coast to the East. I rented a 5x8 U-Haul and the SHO did very well as a tow vehicle. Even driving through the mountains getting out of LA the temp barely fluctuated. The fuel mileage obviously took a dive, but that is to be expected...instead of my usual 380-400 miles to the tank I was getting about 260. I dropped my friend (and her stuff) off back in FL and then drove home. That winter storm that hit yesterday did slow my return by a bit, but overall I had very nice weather the entire time. Tomorrow I'll take it in for another service (had one done just before leaving FL the first time so I'm only a little over my goal of 5k intervals) and while there I'll have them look at the power steering pump. I heard a slight hum the other day and want it checked out. Anyone else done any long road trips with their SHO's?
