Replaced the drivers side front axle today. I tore the boot on it when I replaced my struts earlier this year. My ******* let the strut assembly fall on the axle when I was taking it out and it ripped it ever so slightly, but enough to ruin it.

I also managed to ever so slightly bump the axle seal on the transmission on install so now I gotta replace that here in the next few weeks. Fortunately it's only a very small leak from it, and removal/replacement was pretty damn easy actually.

Seals and I just don't get along.

I took my Wilwood calipers and new rotors off and coated them in an anti-squeal compound that worked really well for like 5 miles then the squeal returned.

I am pretty bummed that I spent $1500 on front brakes and rotors and the car sounds like a hoopty ************* that’s too embarrassing to drive.

With that said if anybody wants a set of Wilwood front brakes with calipers, pads, and mounting bracket shoot me an offer.

Man that sucks. Any chance you somehow have a bad set of brake pads? I can't honestly say Ive ever heard of that happening, but might be worth a shot before giving up on the whole thing.

I'm seeing from your post your having some issues with your wilwood superlight 4 front brake kit. A member pointed me in your direction and to this post as I was unaware you were having issues as you had not yet reached out to me. If your having issues please let me know directly so that I can offer some assistance and help resolve any issues that are occurring as I want my customers 100% happy with their purchases from me.

Some quick questions off the bat to help diagnose what is potentially causing this braking noise:

• Are the pads able to slide freely when resting in the caliper's brake pad groove, and is the caliper brake pad pin tightened properly or potentially overtightened?
• Are the pads remaining in contact with the rotor even after the pedal is released? If yes, is there clearance between the pad and the rotor when the caliper piston is completely recessed back into the caliper? There should be clearance, if there is not clearance I would recommend using the supplied shims provided in the kit to remedy this issue.
• If there is clearance between the pad and the rotor but the noise still persists, are you running drilled and slotted rotors along with bp20 pads that may require a break in period to bed in completely? The recessed portions of the rotor surface combined with the more aggressive street and track pads may be causing this noise and in which case, I would recommended trying a bp10 pad and or solid rotors.

Buddy borrowed my wheels for his gtr to go to the strip. Look at that offset difference in the back LOL Needs some spacers. His wheels have snow tires on them. So that's the reason for the swap

Good stuff, I have been looking at those lithium ion batteries for awhile now.

As far as the brakes go. I have tried with and without the shims. With the shims the pads are close to to rotor but I can’t tell if they are rubbing after I let off the brake.

Without the shims they have a little bit more space and you can slide out the pads pretty easily.

Rotors are OEM style/blank.

Are you referring to the tightness of the brake pad retaining pin?

Basically, the hotter they are the louder they squeal. When braking harder they don’t squeal. When they are hot and I do any medium or light braking they vibrate/squeal the loudest. Groups of whales are probably trying to make contact with me in Corpus Christie.

Without the shims they have a little bit more space and you can slide out the pads pretty easily.

Yes I was referring to the tightness of the brake pad retaining pin and wasn't sure if maybe it was so snug it didn't let the pads slide back and forth, but it sounds like this isn't the case.
If there is more clearance without the shims then I wouldn't use the shims as more clearance is what you want.
The only other variable could potentially be the bp20 pads themselves. I personally use the less aggressive bp10 pads and oem motorcraft rotors and have had zero issues with noise. The bp10 pad part number is "150-8854k". I would suggest trying those first before selling off the entire kit as it really does work amazingly once its installed and functioning as it should. If the aggressive brake pads are the issue I would buy the bp10 ones for you, just send me a receipt and I will reimburse you for them, in an effort to resolve this issue as I want you to be happy with your kit.
