Oh and dimensions were similar to the Grp 65 battery it had stock. It was a little taller, same width and a bit shorter. Had to tweak the OEM battery hold down bolts a bit, but was easy enough. I've got photos of that project I did as well. I could post them if interested....

Maybe I'll make a new thread on the battery thing...post my pics, findings, research, etc. I did put a lot of though into it when I bought it...

Stock sunroof with frame, motor and glass is 29.1lbs. A lot lighter than I thought it would be. The majority of the weight looks to be the glass (once separated I'll weight it independent). The frame is made of a reinforced plastic and the motor is fairly small. IMG 20200730 185405

It actually kicks more starting amps then the stock battery. It's got a PCA of 1280, stock has CCA of 650 and CA of 810. Different metrics, yes, but for engine cranking purposes (3-5 second duration high current draw PCA metric vs 30 second CCA metric), it has roughly twice the cranking ability. And it's VERY noticeable when staring vs the OEM. The thing cranks RIGHT over. Lol.

Reserve Capacity is about 60 minutes vs 130 minutes of OEM, but I never let the car sit for that long with accesesories on, nor do I have a high current draw stereo.

It lives on a trickle charger. I pull home and plug it in, so it's always good to go.

I've had it since May of last year and have had zero issues. Braille is a top tier battery company, so I've got a little more faith in their quality control as well.

That was a long winded way of saying, "No", lol.

But it was very pricey, I'll say that much...
How much wash she? The 21 pound Braille was $220 IIRC (if I recall correctly) for those that don’t have any clue what IIRC means .....me being one of them haha

The Braile 21 and Braile 17 are short enough that the stock battery tie down will hold it just fine.

Yes they do, I took my battery holder off, gave it a haircut to manipulate the wiring harness to get the OEM wires to reach. Then next time I went to the parts store I saw battery wire extensions.....looks down kicks a rock

I'm telling yee, the new automobiles are crazy lightweight for what they are. My truck with me in it, a gangbox full of power tools, extension cords, miscellaneous parts and testers and hand tools as well as a 5gallon can of e85, 4 pairs of boots, and other PPE (high voltage...etc) and its only 5400lbs.

You’re in an aluminum body though right? I would want that....others hate Easily it dents but I pride myself on not hitting things that aren’t moving so there’s that

Now you’re just exaggerating there’s no reason for 4 pairs of boots. Pic or it didn’t happen

Its actually stronger than the steel one it replaced. I dont even worry when throwing cinder blocks, conduit, strut, stainless boxes into it. And so far, a few scratches in the bedliner but no noticeable dents. Its military grade aluminum

As far as weight reduction goes, you could probably look into eliminating ptu, driveshaft, and rdu. Swap in a rear and trans from a fwd taurus. Use skinnies on the back. Idk, thats pretty much stage 10.
