Stock? Idk. The GH IC has a pressure drop that increases your WGDC% but I forget how much.Whats the pressure drop on stock intercooler?

Me and Lee and keeping meth off as well. So hopefully you're tune will allow that.
I want to log IAT,IAT and CAC_T from 0-100mph. A short 3rd pull won't test the intercooler's ability to handle constant load without soaking or exponential reduction in ability to wick heat (like the stock).
Hahaha Lee you sick BirdDid a 0-100 pull this morning. dump truck forced me to stop before the quarter, but should give some good data.

Careful young Jedi, no Vanishing Point endings...... It's been an unfortunate year for our resident gearheads already (no pund intended).
Yeah, sure. Wasn't sure if our engines ever got hot enough during a pull that timing could be pulled and if so, would running the heat on full blast have any effect on minimizing its rise. Heck, compare IAT's along with it if you want because, science right? What temps are you wanting, coolant? I don't think it would matter on a FMIC for IATs but I can log it.
I have data of new FMIC in comparison to GearHead IC.

IC will be getting painted black. Original reason to bring back the all black look of my front end. Even better reason is bc it will force it to become A LOT more efficient. Crazy just by painting it Black!! Mighty Car Mods did this test, extensive measuring of heat across IC, heat soaking it and also adding air flow. Started off with a nice shiny IC...got all their data...then painted it black. Just by painting it black it reduced temps on the outlet side by a staggering 40°! This is also without airflow. So at the track waiting in the staging lanes....this is a HUGE BENEFIT!!!
GH IC being black isnt by mistake. I'd say my new IC black will actually be a lot better than GH since with it silver its marginally better already.
I would do it bc you'll get cooler IAT2 temps. Your IC flows more air than GearHead but yours is silver. So you have more airflow going for you...if you make yours black it should work better than GearHead. I never knew this stuff. I thought the GH IC black was just whatever! Could you imagine a GH IC silver...wouldn't work as well, especially since it doesn't get direct airflow....where Black really shines when there isn't direct airflow.I saw this too! Still debating going painted because I just love the look lol. Thought about doing the back half black for dispersion but keeping the front unfinished for a little better efficiency. Not sure if it will actually work better that way, I'm just having a hard time making a choice
Wow! I actually never knew this. I also love the look of a large, silver, menacing IC hanging off the front end of the car, but looks like I'll forever be doing my ICs in black going forward.IC will be getting painted black. Ecoboost hit it on the head, radiant vs convected heat.
Well so two opposing opinions sounds like will have to find out lol! But I thought the 40° colder temp without air flow sounded like a big benefit for heat soak...also thought the black IC cooled 97° cooler from its already 40° head start. Why would flowing air through it heat it up? That doesn't make any sense.Dammit! Now I WON'T be painting my IC black....LOL. ugh! Science. Guess more testing may be needed, but after more thought about it, the real world application of painting the IC black sounds more and more like it's not as effective as it's initially portrayed in the MCM video.Ecoboost hit it on the head, radiant vs convected heat.
