Honestly, I'll just start attempting it and we can all reap the reward.
Everyone is down with that.

That being said, for every owner that comes on here stating they will do this and that, maybe 2% have the skill, the money, and/or the will to do it. So the usual reply is also the most correct for the majority of owners. The highly profitable companies analyze the market and invest their efforts accordingly.

The SHO has always been a super tiny niche market, so most companies interested in making the most bang for the buck don't see the volume. For good reason. I can't even buy a new oem/aftermarket crank position sensor for my old car. The numbers aren't there for already developed stuff to get produced.

I'm interested in something that can save some weight but at the price points I'd rather build my motor. Or get creative and maybe try to make something myself. I want a cool Nascar style spoiler, I want a rear diffuser, I want a light hood and wheels, lighter seats, and even a rear seat delete like the mustang boys. I'm all about speed but in some instances its not what I'm all about. My splitter, wheel spacers and GH IC added weight but its worth it to me. If I made a sick diffuser, and they sure would add maybe 8 lbs so be it...it would be cool!

Weight saving is beneficial. There's no denying that one bit. So as it may not be for all, it shouldn't be so easily overlooked either. Both the Worlds Fastest Ford Taurus SHO and Ecoboost SHO have WR.

Taking some weight out at the track in this instance is GAME ON as its what the Top Contendors use.

I see myself with a WR set up that's permanent.....so it would be functional, comfortable and also lighter than stock...such a set up would not set any WR records of weight lost, but it would be a SHO utilizing a very powerful performance gain...WR.

I can not decide if I should pay $300 for a 21lb battery or $550 for a 5.5lb battery...

Mine was like $175 shipped to my door for the 21. You need to make sure the CCA is at least like 500 otherwise I'd be worried about not being able to crank the car

I'd be curious to know what it'd take to convert to FWD only and the weight savings there. I've said in the past that someone on here or the ecoboost performance forum from Saudi Arabia or similar converted to FWD, full bolt-ons and was walking some fast cars (R35 GT-R being one).

I'm assuming it's a simple as removing the rear drive unit and driveshaft, but leaving the PTU in place? Put some nice sticky tires on front, some skinny's in the rear and let'r rip. It will go against the "purist" out there, but if you're already gutting the car, why not keep at it.

They probably removed the PTU and had a longer axle made.

yeah, I loathe the feel of FWD. I would never want to convert to that.

The 21lb one is 1380 pulse cranking amps and the 5.5lb is 947 pulse cranking amps.
What model did you get?

Looks like they've gone up since but this is the one I got. I was more so worried about cold cranking amps than a lot of other things because of driving in the winter. I wouldn't really go smaller honestly. I've had to jump start the car a couple times from my sct device being idle. I now put a battery tender on the car if I know I'm not going to drive it for a few days.

Braile was my first choice. They suggested the B3121 lightweight AGM (The link you posted) or the GreenLite G30 lithium if I wanted to get real lightweight. But now I'm leaning towards the Indurapower 210 series.

10lbs and it's linked to your phone so you can turn the battery off remotely or put it in storage mode.

I didn't want to spend more than what an oem replacement would cost. Money better spent in other areas imo.

My weight as of today is 4220lb. Still lots of easy to pluck weight reduction items to remove too, like the battery. I still have the stock boat anker of a battery.
**This was at 27% fuel in my tank. At a full tank there would be another 85lb in the car.**
Current weight mods, if I can remember them are
NRG bucket seats
Aluminum bash bar
Enkei TRS-X wheels
Rear mufflers deleted
Rear sunshade with motor delete
Rear center seatbelt delete
Engine cover delete
.. I'm forgetting something

I've heard the average electric sunroof assembly is over 250lb.
