Honestly, is it worth putting the money back into this car?

As some of you may know, the engine is toast on my 2011 SHO with only 93k on it at the time of the rod deciding to take a flight. I purchased this car back in May with 78k miles on it for 14k out the door, and I am just really discouraged at this point. I am 19 years old working my ass off selling cars at Cadillac, and going to school fulltime. That adds up to about a 120 hour work week every week.
Money wise: I have a buddy who has a full engine assembly, turbos and all that will drop right into the car for $3500, labor to get that installed would probably run about the same I am assuming. I want to do it myself but time just doesnt permit, there is no way. $7,000 to just get the car back up and running, and i still have to worry about the trans going. Is it even worth it to keep it anymore? Trans would probably be like $3000 to have rebuilt I am assuming. For $10,000 Id rather just buy a cheap C6 vette and procharge it.
Any input/thoughts would be appreciated. I love this car, but im not sure I can keep it

But then you have a Chevy ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist. No, it doesn't make sense for you. Depends on how much you like the car.
I love the car, but just for the money.... I love getting at people in the SHO, picking on Evos, and challengers, chargers mustangs and things like that. Butttt..... a procharged vette or mustang im on a whole new level

If you have a daily take your time to do the work yourself and save some money or just dump it now and cut your losses. Either way when you sell you’re going to take a loss running or not.

You can almost do the same thing to an 5.0L f150 that you can do to a 5.0L mustang with forced induction. Who would think an f150 would be kinda like a sho in sleepiness, but easier to get into than a mustang. And you can still have 4 doors if you want.

I would think 8 hours would be enough time for a R&R. That is the labor charged for a timing chain+water pump install which requires an engine drop. Where do you get the $3500 labor cost?

My mechanic said it would be 24 hours in labor

24 hours of labor is insane for an engine swap unless he's rebuilding the motor prior. Disconnect the harness, drop the cradle, swap the engine and put it back.

I also question this mechanic needing 24 hours of labor to swap an engine? Unless of course, this guy does not have the necessary tools to do the swap job properly and efficiently in the first place. You may want to get some input from other mechanics!
