I had no idea they cost so much. I edited my previous post to reflect that. If ****** or hedman made them they'd be black and 100bux lol
I miss the good ol full length header days

Lol supply and demand. Wish they were cheaper but if every SHO owner from 2010-2019 bought a set it still wouldn't equal the number of LS headers they sell in a year.

My vote is for coating AND wrapping, at least that's what I'm inclined to do when I buy my pipes. The ceramic will elimate the corrosion concern and compliment the effectiveness of wrap insulation.

Yeah lol the old 5.0 motors were so cheap to build, I used to always have a spare motor ready to swap in so I could rebuild the other one. I think the LS swap is so common that they probably can't make parts fast enough. The SHO needed more support from Ford. It's probably the most unknown factory hotrod sedan.

I made a stop by PPE this afternoon. I met Paul and he supplied me with some flanges for my upcoming 3rd cat and stock resonator delete mod coming next week. They are making some cool stuff there. Paul was really cool and he was excited about the interest this post made in the community.

I really would like PPE to make a 304ss flex pipe for the Taurus SHO, to get rid of the funky bends that the stock haveflex pipes, as they are connected between the factory downpipes and catback. A good and cheaper mod for SHO owners. Not a real HP maker, but it cleans up the exhaust system, and gives SHO owners another option, if they do not want a complete downpipe system.

I really would like PPE to make a 304ss mid pipe for the Taurus SHO, to get rid of the funky bends that the stock mid pipes have, as they are connected between the factory downpipes and cutback. A good and cheaper mod for SHO owners.

The problem is it for that mod you have to cut the stock set up. From the 3rd cat to the exhaust tips is one piece. I am actually modding my stock cat back. Hopefully it will be done today and I can get some good video clips of the before and after, because I did exactly what you want to do.

I misspoke, I mean a flex pipe. I am running a Corsa exhaust.

I misspoke as well. I should have said the 3rd cat to the stock resonator is one piece.

What improvement do the new pipes provide. The only improvement I see is maybe the 2 piece front downpipe my be easier to install, but it creates another piece of piping and extra exhaust band. Also not a fan of the cast portion. Just an opinion, but if they were making a two piece downpipe, they should of copied the factory 2 piece design. This way they could sell just sell a flex pipe portion, a downpipe portion, or a complete unit. This would give more flexibility to customers, and potentially increase profit.

Maybe I should have waited for the revision.

Those will still flow any amount of air you can throw at them. They are damn pretty.

Agreed, you won't have any issues. The changes were just an improvement, not that the originals were bad by any means. They will get the job done 100x over.

Have your tuner give you a off road tune.

I wanted to get ppe pipes but was told they are not stocked. I’d have to order them and wait 2 months while they make them so I ended up going with LMS ones. I had zero complaints they fit real nice and seemed like a quality piece if you want catless pipes and can’t wait. Can’t speak for the catted ones.

I just ordered the LMS Thunderstorm Catted Downpipes.
Did you wrap or coat them?
