This is kind of a copy pasta from the other forum but figured it's very relevant over here also.

So I was given the opportunity from PPE to test fit and quality check their new revised pipes. So they have a cast ****** bend that goes to the piping which is absolutely a work of art. Looks like it's 3" then slowly necks to 2.5" and fitment is great. They also now have a 2 piece design for the front side turbo which has an extra long pipe.

I had OBX downpipes which had an oxygen sensor on the wrong side and like 5+ unnecessary small bends in them. They also hit each other so I had to "massage" one of them. These were a perfect tight fit with no issues.

So here is some pictures!

Wrapped them up and ready for install!

Installed and quick comparison to the OBX crap pipes. Look at the shadows and you can see the crazy bends the OBX had.

Really if you want a super quality piece these are the pipes to get. Really quite impressed with them. Technically should flow better also, but really not an issue. They also tuck up tighter to the underside than the OBX did. Anyways 10/10 super impressed!

Any idea, what (if any) warranty there is, or may be, on the cats themselves?

IIRC, Federal law states there should be a 3yr minimum on them.

I only ask cuz I may be considering a set for myself. TIA.

I had no idea they cost so much. I edited my previous post to reflect that. If ****** or hedman made them they'd be black and 100bux lol
I miss the good ol full length header days

Just had mine installed which I was told by the mechanic are extremely well made.

What is the purpose of the 2 part new design Jordan_R?

Also, I didn't wrap mine but noted lots of heat shields on the stock pipes. The mechanic said the air flow around the pPE was better and didn't think they needed to be wrapped. Does this sound correct?

Two piece design I'm assuming makes shipping easier and installation slightly easier. As for the heat wrap... It's fine to not wrap them but I prefer to wrap them to further mitigate under hood temps.

I was worried about cooking the PTU oil but I'm told that wrapping won't help that much. Looks like Ford was worried enough though.

Race teams use the wrap religously to keep temps down. I wrapped mine and I wish I took the time to have my PTU temp sensor PID tied into my Livewire for before with my stock DP's vs after with my wrapped PPE DP's.

Wrap gets a bad name but it works.

I'm in a very year round wet climate. Does the wrap retain water increasing the risk of corrosion? What is the wrap you're using.

If you live in a wet climate you are at risk of corrosion. So thermal coating would be up your alley. I live in a very dry climate so I don't have to worry about that.

Thank you. Given the corrosion issue maybe I should just wrap part of the pipe that's close to the PTU just as a precaution.

Up there wrapping might be a problem. I would consider it, but as was said a coating would make more sense.

Maybe take a look around for a local spot that can do it. There are decent enough coatings available that you could save $ vs paying for shipping and having jet hot or swain to do it.

The blasting prep and high temp curing would be the things that would stop me from doing that at home. I have heard of home done products that work pretty well if you can do the prep/bake. Most turn out not so well because of product selection and lack of previous 2 steps.

I wanted to get ppe pipes but was told they are not stocked. I’d have to order them and wait 2 months while they make them so I ended up going with LMS ones. I had zero complaints they fit real nice and seemed like a quality piece if you want catless pipes and can’t wait. Can’t speak for the catted ones.

Livernois rebrands 99% of their products. Cheaper to go elsewhere for the exact same pipes.
