You have two threads for two different issues - maybe they are related. How new is the battery?
I will look at the date on it. It looks fairly new and is a Motorcraft. You have two threads for two different issues - maybe they are related. How new is the battery?
May not be the cause but these cars eat batteries. I would change at 4 years regardless. It's 4 years old. I'm taking the car to FORD tomorrow, will update everyone
best of luck!
2013+ can be upgraded to SYNC2. Yes you need the APIM and FDIM, plus a GPS antenna wit Fakra connector and if you want to use Carplay or Android auto a new USB hub, trim piece, and associated harness. Ford only sells the pigtail but Tech sells premade harnesses. The dealership said they would not do the update because it could brick the controller. If that happened they have no way to get new controllers because they are on infinite backorder. They had another Taurus and a Fusion do that recently. So my regular shop who just did a bunch of work to it said they will find me a center stack from a junkyard car and it should fix the problem as they just did the same on a Lincoln MKZ I think he said. So waiting on them to locate one with navigation. Let you know next week what happens. Otherwise I'm thinking of following instructions I found to upgrade it all to SYNC 3 compatible APIM and FDIM from a newer SHO that's been wrecked, order up the retrofit parts needed etc. He said the cost was a total of like $200. The dealership would of wanted $1,300 to fix mine if it had bricked upon update, and the parts were still available.
