I recently did the BOVVTA mod on my 2011 Taurus and it sounds amazing, except when Im hanging out with my friend I have to rip down the street to make that all satisfying pshhhhhhh sound. Is there any way to make it build boost up in park or neutral. I have an automatic btw :(
Thank you for the help in advance!

Yes, put it drive and brake stand it until 2500 rpms. Then rapidly get off the throttle. It will make turbo car noises. However, you will heat up the trans and converter if you keep doing it.

My ST with a Boomba BOV sounds like a ruptured CO2 cartridge even then I rip it in neutral. If gets quite the attention......next up train horn....

The closer the BOV's are to the turbo the easier it is to make them make noise. The rule of thumb is usually closer to the TB the better. The SHO BOV aren't remotely close to the turbos, so yeah off idle stuff is hard. I love the little turbo cars (ST's, WRX, Hondas) that give you BOV blast thinking they are tough $hit. They are in for a surpise when the SHO gives it to them back.

My ST does it because the BOV is literally mounted directly next/right beside the turbo and produces enough air pressure with off idle blimps.

check out this thread here, i did it based off of just the pictures and replys here its pretty straight foward! took me about 20 minutes, but have a big pair of needle nose pliers as the back bov is a b**** to unclamp the back hose clamp!

On the rear one for me the damn tabs for the clamp were twisted as far to the passenger side as they could go. Was almost impossible to get off the BOV side, but I barely got it in the end.

This thread makes me embarrassed to own a sho... what are you 10? Go figure out how a boosted setup works and you'll know why u cant blow off in neutral.

Sounds like you have so serious issues to work out if you're embarrassed over owning a vehicle because of a question.

Or he's just doesn't know enough yet? Instead of being a dick, why don't you tell him how it works? Or give him some insight?

Refer to my first statement about BOV placement and BOV engagement.

Sounds like the stupid diesel punks running around blowing black smoke all over "cause its cool". Grow up or just go buy an exhaust whistle if you like to make pointless noises. It's one thing to have a loud blow off as an after effect of high boost and aftermarket valves but just trying to hack a factory system to make "cool noises" for your buddy is about the dumbest thing I heard. Thats why I reccomend doing something productive like learning how his vehicle actually works instead of trying to ruin it brake standing for his buddies to make what will never be more then a cute little factory pshhh

Not because of a question. because of stupid actions, sold my diesel cause of all the tards running around with cranked up fueling and no other mods so they could blow smoke. It's that childish behavior that makes me embarrased.

Lol what makes you think I'm hurt? I just dont believe in encouraging stupidity. I would expect these comments from people with cartoons as profile pics tho and I dont expect this to go any further so... I'm out. Get a exhaust whistle if ya wanna make noise in neutral kids.

Eh, oh well. Hopefully he blows it up, wont take long with that kinda stupidity

Because him brake standing his car to make turbo car sounds for a couple of seconds is going to blow it up....come on now. I hold mine in a brake stand probably longer then him in boost when I stage my SHO at track. What is the difference? I get on the converter and launch in boost to dust people in the street light to street light grand prix too. I guarantee I drive my SHO harder than 98% of the people on this forum....and I do it just for FUN.

I put a Boomba BOV on my ST just for people of your kind. When the BOV hits and releases 25 psi from the boost tract it gets people's attention. When someone rolls their eyes or shakes their head....it gives me such fulfillment and enrichment. Knowing that people like you literally seethe in your car, makes me do stupid crap.
