hey guys so I’m freaking out a little, not sure what’s up but every time I brake at low speeds my passenger side brake sounds like it’s grinding and crunching. Drove through a snow storm to get home yesterday and locked up a few times, just started this morning. Not sure if I need new brake pads or what, just moved to apartments in KC (and a very poor college student because my job suddenly just dropped my hours like a hot cup of coffee) so can’t really lift my car and check or anything but it was fine up until today when I took off for class.

Can’t upload a video, I’ll try to upload it to YouTube in the morning and link it.

Do you feel anything in the steering wheel or brake pedal when that noise happens?

Both, going to grab new pads when I’m off work tonight. Guess I’m skipping school to try and replace them in the morning

I have the performance pack, would this change what brakes I need? The lady at auto zone was trying to sell me the police pack pads over the phone but I wasn’t sure

Technical Service Bulletin. What year is your SHO again?

For a 2013 SHO - painted calipers also means PP

GB5Z-2001-A Brake Pads
Front Pads
TAURUS; 3.5L; W/ TURBO; W/ PAINTED CALIPERS
$105.49 $66.72

GB5Z-2001-A Brake Pads
SHO, W/ SHO PERF PKG
$105.49 $66.72

Police Interceptor pads seem to be a "downgrade" from PP pads

13 DG1Z-2001-F Brake Pads
Front Pads
POLICE INTERCEPTOR SEDAN; W/ O PAINTED CALIPERS
$72.69 $45.98

DG1Z-2001-F Brake Pads
POLICE INTERCEPTOR
$72.69 $45.98

since they are also listed for the non-PP version.

Yeah I have a 2013PP I don’t think the pads are painted, not sure. I’m just looking for the cheapest ones right now to get me by for a few weeks until I have money to get some good ones. I’m afraid I’m gonna have to replace a rotor too, may just go all out once I have the funds and get some slotted ones

I think that is just a designation, however odd. I believe the "painted" refers to the butterfly/daisy wheels.
