I bought my gen 4 sho with just under 90,000 miles (currently at 115,000) through Carmax and have a warranty for 3 more years or until 150,000. I plan on taking her to a shop Monday mostly for fluids.

Change fluids of: PTU, RDU, Coolant, Trans, Brake. (will probably do oil change myself)

With my warranty should I go ahead and get the timing chain and water pump replaced now or wait till my warranty is about up?

Also, is there anything else I should have them look at doing while it’s getting worked on?

Thanks,

Why would a warranty pay for a failure that hasn't happened? I think the best you can hope for is the failure happens and the warranty company doesn't try to weasel out of paying.

I meant should I pay now even though warranty wouldn’t cover it or should I wait for it to go bad then have warranty pay for it.

General advice for warranty I would get all oil changes at the dealer (with electronic records) within mfg mileage/time guidelines. You don't want a dispute with engine coverage and oil changes.

it may be an unpopular opinion but if your warranty covers work performed during the warranty period it is good practice to do some preventative maintenance if you have the funds to do so. if your pump starts leaking or your chains start to go and you catch it warranty pays for it and youre out nothing. But as has been discussed before, warranty work is often done in haste and is sometimes botched. the goal is to avoid catastrophic failure and your car is due for all of its needy needs, chain, water pump, oil pump while youre in there. If funds allow and the warranty will protect those procedures (or at least come with their own warranty) I would recommend having it all done sooner than later, and I agree with @luigisho warranties like to see scheduled maintenance performed by a certified shop with records to prove the car was taken care of to their specification. its a loop hole they can use to get out from under expensive repairs, you might need to check your warranty terms and conditions to see what is expected by you as the owner. if you've been doing your own oil changes while under warranty you may have already voided it.

As for everything else, Trans, PTU, and RDU are a must and at minimum the shop should use the motorcraft fluids (I switched to redline for the PTU and RDU at the 115 mark, opinions here vary), if the brake fluid hasnt been changed make sure they use DOT4, good time to check the IC for oil pooling and suck it out, this is also a good way to check the health of your turbos, check your air filter and MAPs for cleanliness, Id throw in a tire rotation and 4 wheel alignment while youre at it and see if the rear toe links have play. the 115 mark seems to be the last call for major maintenance to set you for the next 100k. If you swerve the major things and lean on the warranty incase things go sideways, the rest is good practice to maintain top performance and drivability.
